Virginia Revolution coaches yelling

was at Raventek park / Evergreen sportsplex throughout the day and I have to say that VA revolution coaches yell almost the entire game at their players non-stop to the point where their players just start ignoring them.

Well, was all the yelling successful? Did it motivate their teams to play better than TSJFCV and win their GA matchups?

You were there all day? Is that what you do with your Saturdays now, loiter around other clubs' fields? That's weird, dude.

Motivate them to play better than FCV, even though all their teams are populated with FCV players... So ofcourse they played better than FCV in most age groups 🙄

Sometimes DD completely blocks it out and doesn't even know its happening. Other times it makes her feel like she didn't play well even if she did. Always tough to navigate.

Regardless if this is accurate or not, and we played 1 VRSC team and I didn't see that behavior at all; as the old coach's adage goes, "If you have to yell it during the game, then it wasn't practiced during the week."

I was watching a Revolution boys team last weekend at their tournament while I was waiting for my kids game to start. They were probably 2013? The coach was fine but the parents were HORRIBLE. Yelling very loudly at both their kids and the refs very loud. It was pretty ridiculous.

Parents yelling is not exclusive to Revolution. Parents across all clubs are guilty of this.

ALL DAY? Wow, do you have a lot of kids that play all day long or do you just enjoy kids soccer. Either way, I find it hard to believe that ALL VRSC coaches were yelling all day. My son plays for VRSC and so far this season our coach has remained calm and hasn't yelled at his team once. So to say ALL VRSC coaches yell at their teams is incorrect. I also watched a few games at the tournament last weekend and only observed 1 coach yell and it wasn't a rude disrespectful yell.

Several StJ parents were asked to leave. They were actually cursing at the young HS aged AR. In one game the STJ coach was actually encouraging his girls to foul. Seriously, you aren't going to last in the GA. Playing aggressive instead of playing right won't go over very well. It's all down hill from here. The teams were lucky it wasn't 10-0 like some of the games last weekend.

That’s terrible. Don’t they need to attract players?

Dammnnn. Every VRSC post comes back to FCV/TSJ. They don’t need a home field when they be living rent free in your heads.

Our VRSC coach isn't a big yeller either. Leave it to DCUM to post the most random observations in a SOCCER forum! Most coaches yell at some point. Its not always negative.

I think people want coaches to whisper. lol. I don’t think they realize, especially on full field, yelling is kind of a must. And it’s necessary sometimes. If people and their kids can’t hack a coach who tells, they may consider rec and hope they get a meek coach there.
