According to the ecnl rules it would appear a girl can not play ECNL RL for her age group (u13) as well as the age group above (u14) on the same day.
Does anyone know how this is enforced or is it not enforced? Does ECNL monitor it when coaches/mgrs submit rosters for the game electronically? |
|
That’s correct. You can only play one ECNL game per day regardless of the age group.
|
|
Who enforces it? As I know of clubs who have kids playing multiple games for different age groups?
Does ECNL catch it and notify the club? Or will electronic rosters automatically catch it and not allow the kids to play? |
| And is the rule for both NL and RL? |
| Nobody is enforcing any of this. |
Yes, the rule applies to both. Anyone rostered to an ECNL team can only play one game a day - nl, rl, doesn’t matter. |
| The rule is only one game per day, including NL and RL, so it would be a violation. But this isn’t FIFA world cup, nobody will be monitoring the rosters for 13 year olds. The rule is there to protect players from getting injured so any club that does this is just hurting themselves. I suppose an opponent could find out and file a rule violation, but again, who really cares? |
| With electronic roster submission wouldn’t it be caught when the same card is used for 2 consecutive games? |
| I say circumvent the rules. Risk of injury to the kid doubling up games is worth it. |
Yes, now with ECNL going paperless and rosters/team check-in being done via the ECNL app, it's much easier for this situation to be caught and enforced. |
ECNL is going to electronic carding system. This will allow you to only play one game. They are enforcing at the older age groups. |
| I think the clubs police themselves with this. At least ours does even to our own detriment. |
| Bottom line is that there isn't anybody doing oversight on this, maybe some clubs police themselves but there are a lot of clubs asking girls to pull double duty. |
| If electronic is new, it’s not going to allow a kid who has been checked in to the early game to be checked in again for game 2 |
Match rosters and check-in are now done via the ECNL app (that's new for the 24/25 season). And yes, a player cannot check-in for a second game on the same day. |
