| Such a tragedy and I admit I’m scared for the captain and crew who I fear will have this pinned on them unfairly |
I think you should consider that you’re way, way too invested in this very sad but obscure marine tragedy. |
| Why? Should I be discussing J Los 86th break up? Or whether my dcs school is sufficiently top tier? |
| This is like the last thing I normally think about news, but I was like that shit was like vexed from the universe. Once I learned his business partner who was also on trial was killed in a random accident days before the boat sank…like why can’t the universe turn on Elon musk instead. |
|
I've heard about it but didn't focus as it happened in Southern Europe, right? Something about a freak tornado hit this yacht shortly after the owner's wife died.
It does seem very strange the DW dies, and bam!, the DH dies in a very strange "accident." He's a billionaire, which means he's done some squirrely things over the years. Sounds like the universe decided it was time to pay the piper. |
It was the business partner who died several days earlier. And then the yacht sunk. The DW lived, dd and dh did not |
Yeah, the chef died. |
| The two accidents seemed too connected to be coincidence, but I didn't follow through to get any details or learn if foul play was suspected in either incident. |
In other words, you think one of the people involved can control the weather? |
| I feel bad for the 18 yo who died but that’s about it. |
| Yes, her of course. But the ship builders are Italian and I think the likelihood that Italian investigators lean to protect them and pin it on a foreign crew will be high. Ask Amanda Knox |
| Also, what is up with Hewlett Packard now going after the widow? |
Most marine experts agree that that weather event wouldn’t have been sufficient to sink a boat that size unless there was something else going on. |
Link? |
| It’s hard to conjure much sympathy for the ostentatious yacht crowd. And I think the captain has some liability here. But one less billionaire in the world… |
