Tires at Costco?

The other thread got me thinking...Does Costco have good deals on tires? Can you get them for every vehicle, or just the more common vehicles?

We got tires at Costco because the cash back on the rewards Visa is nice. Also they have a good warranty on them and when we got a leak about 8 months after install they replaced it (prorated for use) so we had to “contribute” like $5 toward the new tire.

Oh and I don’t know enough about types of tires and vehicles to answer which ones are available. But it looked like a huge selection when we were there.

I like how they do free tire rotations for the life of the tires.

Yes it’s a great deal. You may have to order the tires you want if they are non-standard but they will ship them to the warehouse and then you schedule install. They often run sales.

You have to remember to go back for tire rotations every 12 months. If you forget, and then attempt to use the warranty to have them fix or replace a damaged tire, then will tell you that you’ve voided the warranty.

I only get tires at Costco. The highest end Michelins available for my vehicle. I’m a tire snob.

Hmm, Costco repaired my punctured tire last week for free, and we haven’t been back there yearly for tire rotations. Bought the tires there about 3 years ago.

What if you have documentation of rotation from your mechanic?

I entered my car model, year etc. on their website and it said sorry can’t help you.

Most tire snobs I know prefer Pirelli or Yokohama. You may be the only Michelin tire snob

Michelins are better than those for sure. They're like Tide, actually better than all the competitors. Expensive but they will last. Even the oem ones that came on our SUV some years ago lasted 70K.

But it depends on the car. No need to put lipstick on a pig. If its a high mile car, get whatever.

The downside to Costco is that the line on the weekends can get very long in you just walk up. Make sure to make an appointment in advance.
