Dorms with AC

Which colleges have dorms with air conditioning? DC was at a summer program with no AC in the dorm - it was pretty unbearable.

Kind of a broad question, little cowgirl.

Why would this matter if the student is not in the south or in college during summers?

Are you one of those climate deniers?

Lots of schools have AC in some dorms….

U South Carolina has it in all dorms.

Va Tech has AC in some dorms

Emory has AC in many dorms.

Yale has it in their newest dorms but don’t turn it on to be “fair”.

UVa is a mixture both 1st year and for upperclass. Newer dorms usually have full climate control, cooling and heating. Older ones usually only have heating.

St Mary’s College of Maryland has it - it was one of the things on my kid’s list when she was applying. She needs enough sleep to function well, and she doesn’t sleep well when it is hot. So AC made the “must have” list.

I'm sorry that happened, OP. It's a health hazard, sleeping without A/C in very warm temperatures. Studies comparing college kids sleeping with and without A/C showed that the ones without did significantly worse on math tests.

Renovated dorms with central air was one of the items on our college search check-list, as was decent dining hall food. For the money families have to pay, this should be included.
DC1 is in a decent college with a good quality of life. I hope DC2 will find something similar.

Michigan has it for some dorms and is building a new dorm complex.

DC1 is at George Washington. His dorm has central air and the food is good.
He was accepted into UMD's Honors program, which would have got him into the renovated Dorchester dorm, also with central air. Food isn't as good.
We also went to William & Mary's accepted student day, and visited a meh dorm room with window unit, and the food was terrible (but apparently they revamped their food offerings). St John's College in Annapolis wasn't very comfortable either. DC did not apply to Middlebury and Skidmore, but visited, and they both looked nice, Middlebury being quite lovely, airy and modern. Vassar is terribly run-down.
