chin hair

another fun side effect of menopause is the growth of some black chin hair. I just get a couple here and there on my face. What do you do other than plucking them? Is it worth doing electrolysis or laser (is that a treatment?)?

Only you can decided if it's worth the effort and money to seek out permanent removal vs tweezing as needed.

You do have to grow them out for electrolysis though.

I tweeze the thick ones and have an electric facial shaver for the rest. My facial hair is very pale, but if it were darker I’d consider something more permanent. I think my brunette sister did laser and her face is always smooth.

Just get in habit of plucking and searching.

I did three laser sessions and found it made a huge difference but unfortunately some of the hairs are both white and coarse and so the laser can’t get them. I currently tweeze them but may look into electrolysis in the future.

I also dermaplane frequently, a few times a week.

Wait till some become white and you miss tweezing one and see it is an inch long....

Laser will only work on dark hair. You can do electrolysis on very short hair, but it may get stuck under the skin, will cause acne-like reaction. Use Neosporin after tweezing, to avoid irritation/infection. White hairs are hard to see but easy to feel by touch, just don't get into the habit of constantly touching your chin.

Oh, yeah! They suddenly appear. They weren't there yesterday, and today are half an inch long. It's nuts.

I did electrolysis and it was totally worth it.

Yes! They appear out of nowhere and it seems like I keep finding new ones. I pluck them and they grow back.

I have one thick black one on my chin. That one has been there for years.

I now have one random white one just below my eye. It gets long because I can’t see it. I didn’t know hair grows on that part of your face. I’m 49. I better buckle up!

My husband was just making fun of my mother-in-law because she had this enormously long hair growing from her chin. I was like, be a good son and tell her about it! So afraid that’s going to happen to me.

I started getting them in my mid 20’s. Been plucking ever since. Wish I’d done laser or something. At 47 they’re now grey and I missed the opportunity.

You might look into electrolysis.
