No emergency contacts

Anonymous
Not a school post, though it's peripherally related: our kids were denied bus service (private school) because DH and I couldn't provide four (!) local emergency contacts. I work from home, so I don't have local colleagues, and he could only find two to agree. We have no family in town. Don't know our neighbors. The school said we can sign up once we come up with two more names, but I feel like such an utter failure. No question. Just a vent.

They need FOUR emergency contacts? That's in addition to you and your DH? That's crazy. I'm also not sure what emegency contacts have to do with riding the bus - is that the only place where emergencies happen?

The regular emergency contacts didn't have to be local so we skated by there.

Can you include yourself (works from home) and your husband (local) — or do you need to have six contacts altogether?

Four local, non-parent contacts.

That's ridiculous. Put your mom's/dad's/sister's name and your phone numbers.

Glad everyone can laugh, since they're not alone.
