| Are you doing it very early, as in now? |

Filling in now.
Submitting some next month. |
| Same as PP. They have their personal statement essay done, completed the information sections and the specific questions for most schools. They are working on the school specific essays right now. They want to submit, but don't have letters of rec right now. We were told that the schools where those are optional will go ahead and read the application without the recs, so we are holding off on submitting. |

By the deadline? Why are you asking? Are you wondering if completing an ED application now is somehow advantageous compared to 10/31?
Rolling admissions makes sense to file as early as you can. |
| Mine started as soon as apps opened last year and finished the day EA applications for his top choice were due. |
Mine is trying to get as much done as possible before schools starts. |
| You can start filling things out and then take a break. Make sure you budget time for reviewing/proofreading every. single. thing. that’s entered. |
Ok…and? Still trying to understand the point of the thread if there is one. |

Mine started filling in the Common App tab in Common App (personal info, no college-specific questions) over the summer.
Mine will probably finish essays and submit just before the deadline. If history of older siblings is a guide, this will probably occur on the deadline date. |
DP, but I get asking. My kid's top choice opened applications on July 1, and he started it right away (last year). I thought it was kind of weird, and wish I'd asked if others were doing the same. |
It's not "very early" to fill in the app, not at all. However, it's a bit on the early side for actually submitting. As long as the school doesn't have rolling admission, it doesn't matter when you submit before the deadline. Someone in this forum claims that it matters for UMich. Maybe that poster will turn up in this thread to explain. |

Some schools such as Wake Forest admit students under their average stats if they apply in august. There are at least three girls
That we know of submitting their apps there this month. |
I'm not the OP, but I can think of a ton of reasons for the question. Just curiosity Getting a feel for how others are managing the timeline given school commitments etc Getting a sense of whether there is an advantage to getting it done early or waiting- either on the likelihood of admission of overall quality of life in first semester senior year But in general, the point of a question is interest in the answer. |
How are applicants supposed to know this? |
