Educational Consultant here. I think it depends on where you are and if you have some specific questions you want answered. I have seen very thorough reports from Family Compass, Stixrud, Chesapeake Center, and Neurobehavioral Associates.

Stixrud. Yes. They really got our kid and wrote so beautifully about the challenges of living with autism that several other people (counselors, school staff) saved portions to quote in other contexts to help neurotypical folks understand similar challenges in kids of this profile.

We had good experience with Neurobehavioral Associates. School commented on the quality of the report. We had it done in 6th grade and are using it for college this year.

We really appreciated Stixrud's efforts. They did a very thorough report. I compare it to the chesapeake eval report from a few years ago, where the chesapeake came across as very template-ish without really giving a feel for the child

Had a good experience with Resnick, saw Beth Feldman.

We're using Dr. Daisy Pascualvaca and they seem to be hitting the mark. We are using them via a recommendation from family friends.

Dr. Rochelle Drill at CAAT wrote a really detailed and specific report with helpful recommendations for our 5 yo.

Would you mind sharing how long the testing itself lasted and if they did a school observation?

We were going back and forth and finally went with KKI and I was very underwhelmed with just 2 hr testing. Insurance covered it, but I would rather go to a private provider next time.

Which specialist did you work with at Stixrud?

So we did a "neurodevelopmental assessment" since she was not old enough for the full neuropsych. It was 3 hours of testing (it is longer for a full neuropsych) spread over two sessions. There was also a 1 hour school observation (at her preschool), a 1 hour parent interview and then 2 parent feedback sessions (2nd one was at our request as we had more questions). They also had us and DD's teacher fill in questionnaires.

Stixrud can be cookie cutter forms. Who did you use specifically that you liked? Also curious- any testers you don't recommend?

Another vote for Stixrud, though it's been a while and I can't recall the person.

How about Kennedy Krieger?
