NBC Ruined the 2024 Olympics--Did Not Televise Men's Boxing On Regular TV

For me, the 2024 Olympic Games were ruined by NBC's failure to Televise men's boxing on Regular TV channels. Did not even provide any news updates on men's boxing in order to generate interest on the men's boxing events shown on Peacock.

Did the US even compete in men's boxing in this year's Olympics ?

They didn't show field hockey either, which is the third most watched and played sport in the world. Far far more popular than boxing and even gymnastics.

I watched men's field hockey and we don't have Peacock.

If this was a priority for you, you should have subscribed to peacock.

Yes, this. It costs me $45 to fill my car, $12 for an el cheapo movie matinee ticket, $65 for the cheapest Wolftrap seat ticket. Peacock was an absolute bargain in comparison, and I've been able to watch whatever I've wanted and athletes from other countries.

I'd never watch boxing. To do so is to watch people inflicting brain damage on each other in real time. They should get rid of it altogether - its a barberic relic from the 19th century like bear baiting and cock fighting.

Cock fighting? Reminds of the time two guys were standing on a bridge taking a leak. First guy says to the second guy, “water’s cold.” Second guy nods solemnly and replies, “deep, too.”

Probably cricket is up there because of its popularity in India and the Commonwealth.

Boxing is the most popular Olympic sport for TV viewership which is why NBC decided to cash in on it by charging a fee.

How much? A month of peacock is cheap.

How much do you pay to watch modern day gladiators beat each other's brains out on pay per view tv? $49.99?
