Next hearing on 9/10. Really thought he might be held on the elevated charges, especially after the other young kids told LE that he was pressuring them to lie about death of baby sister. Or at least removed from the home. His wife is not working since he was ordered not to be alone with the remaining kids, how is that sustainable when he has not had a job in years?

I really thought the doctor wife might have made a clean break, Scholtes' oldest child from another rx was removed by AZ years ago for conduct similar to that which killed the toddler.

First degree murder and first degree child abuse and he's free, not even bond paid? Seems odd and like the other kids could be at risk?

Have to wonder if he will serve any time at all? RIP little Parker.

At his bond hearing his wife called it "all a big mistake" and even today they did not take him into custody, after the grand jury elevated the charges.

Inside Edition has bodycam footage. The parents seem more focused on him than the dead toddler.

Very strange dynamic between couple and why would she want to go get very young kids to see dad arrested? They are already traumatized. That he is out and living with the kids and both parents are witness tampering and telling them to lie to LE is troubling.

I doubt they will get a first degree murder. Must have charged with that to plea down. First degree requires premeditation and intent to kill. That just isn't there. This seems far more like negligent homicide.

Given some of the details that have been released, they might get first degree to stick.

Mom rubbing his back, comforting him, and giving him a kiss when she is the one who found the toddler… omg I don’t have words. A mother who chooses a man over her kids will never ever make sense to me.

If he's not a flight risk, and not a danger to others, there is no reason to hold him in prison until his trial, on the dime of the state. Really people? Do you understand what pre-trial detention is for? Do you understand what bond is for? It's assurance you will appear at trial.

As for the bail system in this country, it's ridiculous, antiquated, and preys on the poor.

Oh right, yes, there are so many repeat offenders in hot car accidents. It’s a real shame.

How can you be this stupid?

He has shown the absolute worst kind of negligence for his child's safety, if not worse. He mustn't be near children. The judge even acknowledged that.

Bond?

What exactly should the bond fee be to allow a baby killer acress to more children? $10K? $50K?

Do children enjoy being killed by rich people more than being killed by poor people?

Idk, he’s charged with first degree murder of one of his own kids. Not a stretch to say he shouldn’t be near the other.

He can’t be near them alone. They must be directly supervised by another adult. What do you think is going to happen?
