Is it possible to fall madly in love in your 30s and beyond?

That sweet puppy love when you’re love sick with your first gf or bf…can you have strong feels like that when you’re 30+?

Of course.

I think it depends whether you've been burned by a significant other or spouse, and for how long. I don't think I can ever feel like that again, after so many years managing my infuriating and abusive ex.

According to my now DH, yes. He fell head over heals for me at 36. He told his friend that he hadn't felt like this in a long time. His friend whom I knew from work told me how my DH couldn't stop talking about me to him, and how he started getting tired of DH's moon eyed talk. LOL

Married 22 years.

The love, yes, but the commitment, in my humble experience, no.

I fell in love and deeply appreciate my boyfriend (40s) but due to having kids from my first marriage, I can't commit to him with wild reckless abandon. I view the world as a practical single mom.

Happens in romance novels all the time. Usually, he’s like a Scottish Highlander or something.

Yes. When I turned 30, I was sure I would have to “settle” for a spouse (if I wanted to be married). I met the absolute love of my life when we were both 32. It took me a couple of weeks of dating, but I def became ‘love sick’ and remain butterflies-in-stomach deeply in love with him 5 years and 2 kids later. He’s not perfect and we have our disagreements, but 10/10 best man I’ve ever met.

That being said, I don’t think you *have* to have this feeling to love someone deeply and have a happy, fulfilling relationship 🤷🏻‍♀️

I did at age 57. Then she broke my heart.

I did at 45 with a man outside my marriage. I didnt want to. But it became quite clear to me that love is kind of this crazy cocktail of chemicals that makes you feel amazing and crazy and bonds you to someone. It’s not magic, it’s not even really real. My guess is that feeling is what you are talking about, OP. Which is different than the love I have for my DH (with whom I also had the crazy chemistry a lifetime ago) and different from the love I have for my kids which is just in my bones.

I had my first boyfriend at 32 so yes I was madly in love with that Scorpio man and he was very successful and attractive but things didn't work out and now I am catching feelings for another man who's younger than me. But in the end I don't fall in love easily no matter what age I was.

My current 35-year-old boyfriend says that he hadn't felt this way even when he was married before so I believe falling in love in your thirties and above applies to men too.

Depends how much you have hardened your heart due to past relationships. I would assert this kind of love is not healthy.

Yes, and then I realized I had never loved before or been in love.

I think most people have it in them to do that once or twice, but after a couple of real heartbreaks the heart place defense ever after. You can still love again, of course, but it’s something different.

I don’t think so.
