Does the US ever revoke naturalized citizenship (I.e.Elon Musk)

Anonymous
I’ve been reading about the political misinformation that is pervasive on Twitter / X. If Musk at some point were legally found guilty of deliberately spreading misleading information, could the penalties for a naturalized citizen include revoking citizenship? Would the penalties for a crime with political consequences be any different from the penalties for other types of crimes?

Only for egregious crimes, not if you’re simply a wealthy a$$hole.

I looked it up and yes, if someone were to be working for a foreign government or if they commit an act of treason. Musk has been going dangerously close to active disinformation (there was something specific recently; I can’t remember what it was but it was above his usual poop posting), but in the climate in which Trump and Ginni Thomas and all the other ringleaders of the insurrection have essentially gone unpunished, I can’t see anything happening to Musk. He’s a wretched person though and obviously not loyal to the US.

More commonly, naturalizations are revoked after it's discovered the person committed fraud/lied on their application. We can't revoke citizenship on the basis of being a toxic edgelord.

Naturalized Citizenship can only be revoked for criminal or civil fraud during the application process. You can’t revoke someone’s citizenship because they are crazy and you dislike their politics. It is impossible to involuntarily revoke citizenship for people who are born a US citizen.

I’m sure OP considers anyone who disagrees with her on anything political to be “very very bad people.”
