GAINED 3 LBS.
Went from 1100 (to 1200) to 1300, 1450, and 1400 and just like that- pow- up to weight I thought I had lost. Before this, was on plateau for a very long time. 1200 calories everyday for 3 months. Thought this would shake it up. Nope. Back to drawing board. |
Give it longer than 3 days. |
I should continue to eat more? I am scared to do that. |
That has to be water weight. |
In luteal phase, the rise of progesterone makes you retain water, and feel more hunger, particularly carbs. So I wouldn't be surprised if you were in that phase. |
That ship has long sailed. |
Then maybe you ate saltier than usual? |
I am hoping that's it. But nothing of note. |
Scared?!? |
A pound is 3200 calories so unless you consumed an excess of 9600 calories over 3 days, it isn’t true weight gain. |
Weight loss is not linear |
I hear you. I did 1300 and lost for 5 months and flattened in the sixth. I slowly added calories to 1600 over the last six weeks and have gained 1.5 pounds. Planning on staying around 1600 until Sept and then lower to where I need to be to at least maintain. 60, post-menopausal, BMI still high and will never be where the chart says I should be based on a number of reasons, but I would like to start again next year and lose 20-25 more. I walk around 12k a day and get at least 300 Fitbit minutes at my target heart rate. I m currently working with hand weights for arms and doing some core building exercises. |
Go you! I don't get 12k steps at all- 10k most days. And you only gained a small amount of weight with calorie increase. I mean, I admit, I have no idea how to do this! Hoping for 15 more lbs to come off. Eventually. |
You added fewer than a 1000 calories in 3 days. You did not gain 3 pounds. |
Eating more will not help you lose weight. To lose weight, you need to be in a calorie deficit. Eat less and move more. You probably weren't tracking your calories accurately from the start. And drink more water. 15k steps per day, drink > 100 oz of water, keep your calories to 1200. You will lose weight. |
