Ideally 25, I would look and obviously feel a lot better even at 15.
I know how to diet, but all the extreme diets that I did in my 30’s don’t work anymore. My hormones and cycle are crazy. I lift heavy, but consistency is an issue due to the hormones. I’m not fat enough for wegovy or ozempic. Help. |
Last year I got a trainer at the gym and lost about 10 pounds and gained some muscle. But it was $$$$.
|
Same boat, I train with a trainer once a week, do a cardio class and a couple hours of outdoor activities per week. It’s not enough for weight loss but I am out of time. |
If consistency is a challenge have you considered doing a workout challenge through an online program. I really like Caroline Girvan's Iron program for this -- it's 5 days a week for 6 weeks and focuses on lifting heavy (though you can add on cardio routines to balance out your workouts -- she has recommended add ons). The whole program is on YouTube and you can take it to the gym with you.
You can print out the calendar and literally check off the workouts as you go through it. And yeah ditch the crazy fad diets! You probably already know what you need nutritionally. If you work out regularl I bet one thing that happens is that you try to eat less than you need for the workouts you're doing and then you binge on foods that aren't helping with the weight loss because you are so hungry. Instead try accepting that you need a certain amount of calories in order to do your workouts but meal plan so those calories come from efficient meals with lean proteins and whole grains and lots of veggies. Doing Sunday meal planning where you prep all your veggies for the week plus plan you proteins and how you'll put the meals together can help a lot to avoid just hitting a wall and eating whatever because you're hungry and tired. |
Cut carbs. Read about glucose. |
Cut alcohol and carbs. The usual healthy eating.
I started HIIT at home every 3 days (ie mon, Thursday Sunday) where my body had a full 48 hours to recover. Started with 30 seconds and 15 of rest between exercises and worked up to 45 and 15 seconds of rest. Continued weight training 5 days weeks. Added creatine daily to help with building muscle and recovery times. Lost about 25lb in fat in under 5 months- but weight came up at little with the muscle increase but i look sooo much better and clothes are loose on me. |
Srop lifting heavy. You need to consume 1200 calories or even a little less. This is a calories in/out sistuation. |
You can get compound Semiglutide if you pay out of pocket. |
Why is lifting consistently an issue due to hormones? What does that mean? |
WW is annoying, but it works. |
Mood swings, energy shifts, cramps, etc. |
Did you track your calories / macros? |
Sounds kind of like a mental-game. There are many days where people who exercise and eat consistently don’t want to and don’t feel 100%. They do it anyway. |
Why does she need to stop lifting heavy? Sounds like she needs to lift heavy more regularly. |
This is the difference between motivation and discipline. No great athlete is ever motivated to train every day. The greatest always have (even if it’s a rest day), and that’s why they get so far ahead. |
