Running shorts and phone

Anonymous
I tried running on the treadmill today in looser shorts-think Speed Up from Lululemon. I liked it, but what if I want to run outside….do I bring my phone? I feel like my phone would weigh them down and that would be super uncomfortable. But most pictures I see from athleta and lulu have a pocket for them.

Also, do they ride up your butt? Do you wear underwear or just rely on the built in underwear?

Any shorts recommended? I wear compressions outside but they are long and it’s hot.

When I go running I just hold my phone. I wouldn’t want to put it in a pocket bc the dear it would fall out.

A great newer innovation is the sports bras with back phone pocket! For me, this is super secure and not painful. I wouldn’t trust flowy shorts for phone. There are good shorter compression 3-5 inch shorts with secure side phone pockets as well

Doesn't the phone get sweaty running outdoors in this heat?

I’ve used a running belt for years. Pockets in most women’s running shorts aren’t big enough (or would be too floppy even if they were). I have an arm band too but prefer the belt as it’s easier to access my phone in case I want to change what I’m listening to or check work emails quickly.

I either use an arm band or a water bottle with a pocket for my phone. I don't run in leggings unless it's winter. Nike tempo shorts are the best ones I've found for running - dicks sporting goods has them in about 20 colors.

I have the lulu dupe shorts from amazon that hold my phone. It bounces a little but I prefer that over the arm band or something around my waist (just don't like the feeling of having something extra around my waist). I had the lulu ones but the zipper broke bc the pocket just wasn't big enough. so far the amazon ones have held up better. once it cools down I like the leggings with the side pocket.

I use a running belt from Amazon. I don’t even run but use while walking the dog. Phone is secure and I can position where most comfortable. They are under $10.

This is what I do. Tried belts and pockets but they are too bouncy unless you really cinch them down

Just don’t take phone. Do you really need it on a run?

Running belt for sure. I've used armbands but they always slide down on me. You can wear the running belt under your clothes if you feel self-conscious about the way it looks.

It's good to have for safety reasons (esp. as a woman). You could get injured, attacked by an animal or a person, or need to make an emergency poop and get picked up. You also might want to place a coffee order so it's ready when you get there.
