Which ECNL clubs are in Cal South?

whats wild is that my daughter also plays field hockey and they've litereally figured all of this out already. They play school year for all their leagues and clubs, but their national development program (ODP equivalent) follows the International standard and is birth year, and its all just not at all a big deal at all. The world just carries on and all the girls are having a great time.

It isn't an issue for any other sport in the US, the idea that we have to stay this way for international play is ridiculous. Softball is fast becoming a major sport at least in the south and last year they went to Sept. 1 cutoff, they are under the USSSA umbrella as well. It's not that difficult unless you are averse to change. Plenty of examples out there.

People don't really think its a big deal to change to 9/1. Its mostly lazy club admins and parents who don't want to lose the age advantage or will now be the new Q4s.

All the August people fighting for this... Congratulations you played yourself.

Cal South doesn’t have any ECNL clubs. It’s a USYS organization and the highest level is Premier. So, I doubt ECNL is planning to follow

US Soccer guides the age group decision across the leagues. The entire podcast discussion was about the 8th/9th grade "trapped player" situation. ECNL's president is pro-school year, but they're not changing anything cause well, US Soccer isn't budging.

This didn’t age well…

The cognitive dissonance is strong today. How does one become this oblivious?

The SoCal soccer forum says that CalSouth doesn’t have any year long leagues so changing to SY Spring 26 is easy for them. ECNL and ECRL are year long leagues, so they most likely won’t follow CalSouth

Just so I am following. We couldn't make the change for Fall 25 because California already held tryouts. But they aren't for year long teams?

Not that it matters, but aren't ECNL and RL half year leagues from U15 on? So the ECRL Virginia division teams have to be in a side leagues for the spring to get in some games and could change to SY for the spring if the side league allow it.
