Spin-off: Does having a spouse / partner that is physically fit give you a sense of superiority?

Spin-off on this post: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1217852.page

My partner is very thin and wirey. I had one woman say to me “tell him to eat a burger.” But he’s athletic and high energy. I think he looks great. We’re in our 40s and dad bod is not attractive to me. I don’t feel superior though, it’s just about what I find attractive.

I feel very lucky every day at how I managed to snag a partner that's awesome in every respect, but it doesn't make me feel like I'm better than anyone. However, I did date this really hot guy once and it made me realize that, if he was willing to date me, then I could radically raise my standards (hence my current partner).

Hell yeah. When I see other dudes with fat wives, I feel superior because my woman has large, full breasts with taut nipples, a tiny waist and a bubble butt and I get to tap that nightly.

No I feel shamed like a blubbery fat slob with loose skin and cellulite and dowager hump. Thanks for asking.

I am fit but it makes me disappointed and a little embarrassed that DH has let himself go. I’m sure he’s disappointed too because I don’t want to be intimate with him… but he probably has no idea why.

I feel similarly. DH regularly gets comments about how fit he is and I swear people look at us together and think "hmm, how did this happen?"

But he loves me and that's what matters. Well, my health matters too but I'm managing my chronic illnesses the best I can.

My husband has always been chubby and has gotten a bit more so in the past 10 years. I still find him wildly attractive and could not give 2 sheetz what anybody else thinks. I neither feel superior nor inferior. But I do feel very fortunate that I have a kind, caring, attractive, intelligent husband.

He's a unit. He was not so fit when DCs were younger, so I'm happy about that from a health perspective.

Superiority, no. But pride? Definitely. He's in his late 50s but still has a six pack. Most of his peers have guts.

Ditto.

But DH is early 50s.

No, I'm just happy he is doing all he can to stay alive for us for as long as possible.

You'd have to ask my husband.

You are assuming fat women can't be sexy.
