Where to buy fresh Cherry Pie

Anonymous
Looking to buy Cherry Pie that is made fresh with no Palm oil or too much added sugar. Where do you recommend to buy Freshly made Cherry Pie?

It's helpful if you put a general location/area. There is a great place in Occoquan called the Golden Plum (used to be Moms Apple Pie and still is the same pie).

No where. Seriously.

Even when going to a bakery, restaurant, wherever, you are going to get either Crisco/palm oil crust, or that gross canned cherry filling. Or both together.

Finding some place that 1) makes an all butter crust and 2) uses fresh cherries and real sugar (and not too much) for the filling, is going to be very very hard to find.

+1 pies are made with tart cherries, and the fresh season just passed and is very short. I usually freeze a bunch to make pies but missed them altogether this year.

Pie crust is much easier to make if you have a food processor for cutting in the butter. I find recipes that use vodka to be more forgiving for rolling out.

Maybe Livin' the Pie Life in Arlington. https://livinthepielife.com/

Their FAQs say that they use "99% butter". They also say if you have dietary restrictions/requests, you can ask them.

I can vouch for the pies at Livin' the Pie Life. They are in fact the real deal and delicious. They are also hideously expensive at ~$38.

THIs place is new and delicious and expensive. Right next to an Italian caterer that sells killer pizza dough. How I spend my time while my kid does his sport up the hill. She gives samples too.
