What in the world is up with Hard Rock Stadium today? How were they not prepared for crazed fans?
Not to mention the Uruguay players going into the stands and fighting fans who were abusing their family members. Let's add in bad reffing. Is the U.S. capable of hosting World Cup matches? What is the problem here? Did we underestimate the fervor of the fans? Not expect and thus prepare for these matches as if they were high level football games, and had security in place? |

So the match was supposed to start at 8, then 8:30, then 8:45 now they've just announced 9:15.
This is embarrassing. |
| What an embarrassing chaos! I'm just hoping there is no real disaster or tragedy with an out-of-control, over-capacity stadium. It's a safety hazard. |
| It's Florida what do you expect? |
| Some of the blame has to be placed on fan nuttery (some of them). This $ never happens at domestic finals. |
Because...unticketed fans were trespassing en masse? |
Yes it's a huge safety hazard. Ae they going to try to sit in ticketed fans seats? En masse? Cause fights in the stands? Block views? Jockey for good views and bump people who paid thousands for legit tickets? Were they screened for weapons or things they shouldn't have? If they're willing to enter the stadium illegally, where else will they press to go? Onto the field? By players? It's a definite safety concern. |
| Things started getting rowdy in Miami last night. This was very predictable. |

This is so embarrassing. I am Latino and am mortified. What a sh*tshow. This is why people ate voting for Trump, even a ton of Latinos. So many of us fled from countries that are disorganized and corrupt.
How is the US going to be prepared to host the Word Cup. The game was supposed to start almost 90 minutes ago. I am amazed the players are willing to play. So many people rushing the stadium did NOT go through any type of security screening! |
The games have been going off fine the last few weeks. |
What so he can throw paper towels at them standing outside of the stadium? |

Go on X to see all the videos. I am shocked no one got crushed to death. Colombian fans started climbing the gates and breaking other gates so the police shut the gates and stopped letting people in. This caused a huge back up because apparently you there wasn’t a perimeter around the stadium where tickets scanned, they were allowing fans to get all the way to the gate to check their tickets and go through security.
So then people (including lots of kids) were getting crushed and the barricades collapsed and all hell broke loose. People rushed in. Police and security gave up. Anyone could literally just walk in. So they have no idea how many people are actually in there. Fans stormed the VIP suites just sat in random seats, and ticket holders show up and say hey, you’re in my seat, move. And the reply is no, I’m not moving. Security refuses to get involved. It’s insane. So none of those people in there have been through a security check. I think they stopped letting people in, leaving scores of legit ticket holders in the parking lot unable to get in the stadium. There are videos of Colombian fans scaling fences, jumping barricades and one wild one of them crawling into what looks like a ventilation system to get inside. And you can tell they’re Colombian because they’re wearing the yellow jerseys. https://x.com/managertactical/status/1812652901954638262?s=46&t=E8qDVnObwqD3VskYpcZ1Jg |
They were Argentina fans dressed as Colombians. |
What difference does it make what fans are really? All of them behaved badly. It is so incredibly dangerous. |
Yep, there's a common denominator between this game and another game that had a lot of problems. |
