stupid question... how hard is it to paddle board?

Anonymous
I'm not uncoordinated, I work out a lot. Am I going to fall off during paddle board yoga?
Anonymous
No. You will be fine.

No they are very stable

Do you do yoga regularly? Have you paddle boarded before? It’s not a good option to start yoga practice if you haven’t done either ever or in a while.

If you’ve never paddle boarded, yes, it’s possible. Is it possible to go a bit earlier to get a feel for the paddle board before the class? It shouldn’t be too tough and focus on balance during your first class, to get a feel for the paddle board.

I thought it was easy, my husband didn't love it but his core isn't as strong as mine.

I am not all that balance-y and I found it very easy to get started paddle boarding. Now I do it pretty regularly. I really enjoy it.

I have fallen a couple of times, when the water was really choppy - but that was fine! Just make sure your phone is in a ziplock.

OP, thanks everyone! I do yoga frequently ( weekly anyway with other workouts, but I've been doing it for like 15 years). Another question, do I need water shoes and what do I wear, my Lululemon or something wicking??

Same. I do a lot of yoga and Pilates and absolutely no issues on a paddleboard. My husband is an athlete, but has an issue on the paddleboard which I think is hilarious.

Barefoot and a bathing suit.

I haven't done yoga on a paddleboard but I do paddleboard. Ours is pretty stable and I don't think I have ever fallen off while paddling. I paddle barefoot.

I'd probably try to paddleboard once before doing yoga on it.

I work out and have a strong core. I find SUP especially with a strong current pretty tough.

its fine. good balance and decent core muscles and you'll be more than fine.

Honestly, it depends on how much current there is or the wake from nearby boats. If you're on a tranquil lake and your balance is good, you likely won't go in. If you're on a river with current and water craft, there's a chance you'll fall off. Especially if you switch positions. It's ok. When you learn, make sure they give you a life jacket and teach you how to get back on your board.

I think paddleboarding is pretty easy, I love it. I do have a strong core. I will say YOGA on a paddleboard seems like a big up in difficulty and if you have never paddleboarded before maybe a bit tough? I would try to get out and just regular SUP for a go before doing yoga on one.

How tall are you? I think if you have a lower center of gravity it is easier. I'm 5'2" and it was a piece of cake. My 6'1" husband ended up in the water quite a bit!
