My DS (10) has been swimming for about a year and we are now looking at tech suits. They are so expensive and it's only good for 8-10 wears?? DS is a B/BB swimmer, would a tech suit really make a huge difference? |
Heck no |
1000 times no. |
No way |
12U tech suits are pointless |
It wil make zero difference |
the 12u tech suits seem to last longer than the other IMO. And it is also partly mental. |
also, for 12u boys, they shouldn't be that much more expensive? less than 100. speedo and tYR both have options.
The 13 and over suits are the $$$$ |
12U tech suits don’t make a difference. However, most of the kids at QT meets wear them, which then trickles down to kids wearing them at other meets, which is why you now see so many kids wearing them at like the October Open. |
The October Open is the new Catalina Wine Mixer. It's a BFD. |
They last longer because they lack the features that make tech suits effective |
PP here, I totally agree. But I would be inclined to purchase a 12u suit for a dedicated swimmer that wants one. Because my kids wore them for a season at least, and for boys can be had for 50-75$ I would save them for only certain meets, so they maintain that mental edge when wearing them. I don't think they matter too much, especially for a 10yo. An older 12 girl in a thresher that fits tightly, I do think can aid. |
😂 |
We got one for our 10u swimmer because he asked for one. Purchased off swimoutlet for $50 on sale, which really isn't much more than the price we've paid for his jammers. If it gives him a mental boost, I'm happy to give it to him for that price (even if it doesn't seem to be a real tech suit in my mind, it is in his). |
The girls suits also aren’t that much more than a Jolyn practice suit especially if you get the tech suit on sale. |
