Now they need to invoke the 25th. If the president is hospitalized the VP needs to be sworn in.

You don't know what you are talking about.

He has an office at Walter Reed.

The VP just steps in if he is incapacitated (such as unconscious).

Sweetie, WTFU. The President is sick and is showing symptoms. He didn't tweet today. He's sick. I'm not suggesting that he is going to die, but he has a virus for which there is no cure.

They need to invoke the 25th Amendment if he’s going to the hospital.

I wonder why no staff person has tweeted for him today.

More inequity.

In all fairness, I think he really is quite sick, because he would not want to go if he didn't have to.

Disagree.

This lets them control the message IF and when he gets worse. No one will know because he is already in the hospital.

Believe me, providers would rather than a high stakes patient there, where they have all equipment, experts, etc.

He has a VERY cushy dedicated area there, it is not like going to a community hospital.

He is also a germophobe, so could be freaking out and could have asked for this.

Well, Sick leaders habitually downplay or hide their illnesses, Trump is the world's biggest liar, and no matter how you spin it, "going to the hospital" is practically synonymous with "very sick."

If he dies. If he’s sick they’d have to reconvene the RNC and vote him out with state delegates. There’s no time with the election four weeks away so effectively, yes.

I think his body double will make the walk. He is too sick. This is a very worrying sign

Did they find someone other big guy to be the body double? Or do they need to pair up to get the girth? Double double.

No any older white will do. Just put a flag pin on and no one can tell the difference. It's a real problem for the SS.

Yep. If the President cannot perform his functions—and that is clearly the case right now—the 25th Amendment has to be invoked. Otherwise, worst case scenario, we have no Commander in Chief if this country gets attacked. It’s not as though he was a competent Commander in Chief, but now we have literally no one.

You people are so ridiculous.

In a statement, the White House said Trump "remains in good spirits, has mild symptoms, and has been working throughout the day."

"Out of an abundance of caution, and at the recommendation of his physician and medical experts, the President will be working from the presidential offices at Walter Reed for the next few days," the White House said. "President Trump appreciates the outpouring of support for both he and the First Lady."

Pics of him walking to Marine One, or it didn't happen.

They can't write a tweet the way he can. He often dictates tweets to a staffer, so my guess isn't well enough to even do that.

Isn't it just like a Mel Carnahan situation? He died 3 weeks before the election to the US Senate and was elected posthumously. I think Trump stays on the ballot regardless, except if he won Pence would obviously become the President.

CNN live is showing he hasn't left the White House yet.

What, in the last 4 years, have you learned about Trump, Communications and Truth?

Officials said presidents have a suite of offices at Walter Reed, and doctors recommended that Trump use it as a precaution in light of his positive COVID test.

Aides insisted the president is fine, walking around and talking, and that this is a precautionary move.

I saw some analysis on this. Basically, RNC picks a replacement and a vote for Trump counts as a vote for the replacement. Pence is the most logical replacement.

WTH are you screeching about? He’s not incapacitated in the least. Of course he can perform his functions. Grow up.
