Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
I don’t speak for them, not do they know who you are. I bet if you go post that statement on their Facebook page they might take interest. Anyway, your silence speaks volumes about you not actually having any specific lies to tell us - lord knows you would if you did. I think you’re just looking to distract from the actual boundary discussion, as you did the other night too. |

The video is patronizing and potentially misleading. It makes a big deal out of the notion that students currently may not be attending the same schools as others in their neighborhood, but says nothing about the very real possibility that FCPS could require some kids to attend new schools while their classmates get to stay at their existing schools.
I wouldn't expect them to be honest, though. They are big on PR these days and not so committed to honesty. |

I made the BIG effin mistake of voting for
some of these people school board people and I have major buyers remorse. I thought they would be sane, thoughtful, and fair. I'm a Democrat and much of what they said aligns with my views. BUT this boundary situation is an expensive mess and I've lost complete faith in Reid's ability to handle this with care. She has made so many missteps on other matters. The school board continues to be less than transparent while spending a ton of money to appear transparent. The smart thing to do right now is to table it until we figure out how Fairfax is going to fare with all of these upcoming federal changes. Instead the FCPS leadership is hell bent on creating more chaos and uncertainty. Did they forget that actual kids lives are at stake here? You're upending their lives in the middle of an already turbulent time for our country and county. |
It honestly feels like thru was just hired to be a $500,000 PR face for the SB. Dunne even hinted at that during one of their sessions asking if thru would educate parents as part of the community sessions. It’s pretty patronizing if you think about it. |
"I'm a Democrat." |
They always say that online and IRL to let you know they are very nice, reasonable people who are disposed toward the right(blue) side of things ordinarily, but this issue or that is just too much. This is most democrats on this issue. The others are dyed-in-the-wool, hell the sheep was born blue, democrats and they won't waver. |
You get the school district you vote for. One-party rule in Fairfax County. "I'm a Democrat and much of what they said aligns with my views." That's your problem. You shouldn't be looking at the School Board elections like a political election. The job of the public schools is to run an efficient education system that focuses on educating children and leaves politics out of it. FCPS has been failing for years now. The political hacks on the FCPS school board toss some red meat to their "I'm a Democrat" voter base, rile people up about Trump and woke political issues, the drones go and reflexively "Vote Blue" year after year for the FCPS School Board, and here we are. We tried to warn you all as far back as 2019 during the last FCPS School Board election I paid attention to. The writing on the wall for school rezoning and bussing was clear to see to anyone who was interested. Anyone who spoke out against it was derided as a secret Trumpster intent on taking over Fairfax County lol. We left for private school and never looked back. My property values are still tied to FCPS so I maintain a mild interest, but it's so ironic to see people talking about this issue now, six years later. |

Having a School Board where every member is from the same party is a disaster. They don’t always agree on everything but they won’t openly disagree with each other. We just saw it with the CIP, where at least half the members clearly had reservations about Karl Frisch’s ridiculous waste of money on Dunn Loring ES. Two caved and went ahead and voted for a CiP that included this massive waste of taxpayer money, and those who either voted against the CIP or abstained still wouldn’t make a clear public statement as to why they wouldn’t support a CIP with Frisch’s boondoggle funded.
I fear the same thing will happy with the boundary review. The majority will approve something harmful and ridiculous, and those who won’t go along nevertheless will pull their punches. If we had a more politically diverse SB there would at least be a more spirited challenge to the majority, even if the end result was the same. It would shine a light on how crazy some of their actions are. |
NP. It appears to be a lie that the BRAC meetings are closed to the public. Wasn’t that revealed through the FOIA documents? |
Quick, someone (Fairfacts?) please FOIA the BRAC meetings. PP claims they are public. |
| How are people finding out specifically what schools are up for grabs? Is if conjecture or is there info somewhere? |
Are you saying these meetings are open to the public? You might want to check your source on that. |
Lemme guess. You live in Great Falls. |
Conjecture. No proposals have been created yet. Great Falls is especially defensive because a simple look at a map would tell anyone it’s ridiculous that parts of great falls go to Langley. |
2 minutes more to Cooper than HMS and 9 min more to Langley than HHS. The distance argument shatters under even the lightest scrutiny. |
