The focus on Fairfacts matters today definitely has me thinking that the school board and gatehouse are trying to vilify the organization because of the recent revelations of corruption in the BRAC selection process.

Really? It has me thinking that the group is getting desperate for attention because their efforts have gone nowhere.

They raised money months ago and so far no sign of them spending it. Maybe fairfacts matters needs to come clean and open their books to an audit.

Ha, proving my point.🤣

Totally on brand that you would demand a non profit to open its books based off of ???(your perception that the money is not being spent?) while doggedly defending FCPS’s BRAC-selection scandal.

Legitimate nonprofits post their financials all the time and fill out IRS disclosure forms that are all publicly available. It’s called a form 990. Google it.

Facebook groups masquerading as non profits? They don’t publish financials. Gee I wonder which category “fairfacts matters” falls into?? Who did all that money go to anyway? Now the GFCA is embroiled in a scandal for donating to this “nonprofit”??

Btw. Soliciting funds for reason X, then not spending them on reason X, is not a good look and may violate the law.

This “group” has some explaining to do.

Getting awfully close to libel here.

Well, now I am ready to donate to Fairfacts.

How much of the FCPS/Thru consulting budget went to develop that stupid video sent out today in the boundary update email? They didn’t define anything helpful (Access to programming was NOT defined) and highlighted a family that is excited to move and looked up their new school information AFTER THEIR MIDDLE SCHOOL KID ALREADY MOVED IN AND MET A BUNCH OF FRIENDS.

Who buys a house not knowing where the house is districted with a middle schooler? No one.

SO if Fairfacts wastes a little bit of of my money while FOIA_ing FCPS, I am all for it. I don’t feel as gaslit by them as I do FCPS.
Now THAT is a waste of money.

Wow looks like a puff piece from the school board trying to get at least a little community support for boundary changes. The support for the comprehensive boundary review has to be in the single digits. No wonder they didn’t run with that on their platform during their election.

And fair facts matter sent its members to community meetings throughout county (and spread them at different tables) even though they lived in great falls to make it seem there was opposition everywhere.

The need for some boundary changes are obvious (over and undercrowding, islands, split feeders, long commutes) like you say.
The fair facts matters people have made pests of themselves everywhere. People are sick of their bullying and lies.

What lies? Because without any you are crossing the libel line here.

No, not upset, what I’m saying is you’re committing defamation without anything to back up your statement that they lie. Even negligence would likely be sufficient for the claim.

I’m legit asking, what was their lie?

Ummm, the second part is just a straight up lie. Fairfacts matters told the group about the meetings in all of the regions because there are group members in each region. There was no coordinated effort to “spread them at different tables”.

Now, if you want to talk about putting your thumb on the scale, you could ask why FPAC members sat themselves at the different tables at various meetings. That is actually nefarious as they are a school board-group masquerading as community members.

You lose credibility when you lie.

And people across the entire county don’t want these changes, despite what you two SB shills think.

Can you stop with the paranoid name-calling?

DP. Given how the SB has refused to make needed investments in McLean’s infrastructure for over a decade, it makes me laugh to think you’d think any McLean poster would be a “shill” for the SB.

Just because she may think boundary adjustments may be needed now given the current situation (others feel differently) doesn’t make us shills.

You call anyone a “shill” if they acknowledge boundary changes may happen or could affect your school, but that’s an odd line to draw in the sand, and one I suspect (even fear) may toughen the resolve of FCPS to double down on unnecessary boundary revisions.

But there you go again, attacking posters, not actually providing compelling reasons for boundary changes. Don’t forget, you are advocating for massive disruption in our county to pile on top of federal uncertainty, most families and posters just want to keep the stable status quo.

I suspect the SB defenders are on here today at the direction of gatehouse, since they’ve been feeling some heat based on the revelations of corruption of the BRAC selection process.

You are a paranoid whacko. This is a ridiculous claim. It must be hard to live your life.

Tin foil hat alert …AGAIN

Absolutely. Their recent revelations are so boring, none of us reacted in the group. If they can't even prove their claims to us in their group, who do they think they can convince?

Ha, again, just cap vapid attacks on people.

Can’t defend the equity boundary review, so you gotta go after the families defending their kids. Not a great look for you.

The difference between you and boundary change opponents is that we are fighting for our kids, and you are fighting for some vague misguided notion of equity (masquerading as efficiency).

That’s why your view is so unpopular, people aren’t going to give up fighting for their kids.

Not trying to limit free speech, but pointing out defamation when I see it.

Sounds like fair facts is planning to use their big bucks to sue parents for free speech on DCUM? Color me surprised.
