They're doing just fine for a breakaway club team, finished 19 last year. Because a nosy parent who has no experience in lacrosse assesses they lost a player doesn't mean they broke up. |
That player left because she was head and shoulders above all the other players. It had nothing to do with the opponents they are randomly slated against at tournaments. This is a very strange argument. |
I'm reading between the lines, but is the player a year older than the other players? |
It will be interesting to see what happens to YJMA. They have a solid group of girls and they have dedicated parents behind them. One key player has already left. Can they keep this team together as the recruiting years approach? |
Wouldn't the top players try out for Capital? |
No chance. The top players could go anywhere but have stayed. They have a great thing going and YJ/MA is already prepping for their recruiting. |
Recruiting? What track record? That’s insanity to pass over a Capital for an experiment. |
2030 parents, chill out. First off no club is “prepping” 7th graders for recruiting. That is the most idiotic thing I’ve heard. Colleges are solely looking at 2026s right now. Second, show me any success YJMA has had with recruiting? Yes have they had some one off recruits at low level DI schools, sure. But if you are smart, you are doing everything know to get an angle into Capital or trying to make a jump to one of the Maryland clubs. From a parent who has gone through this. |
Whoops. Looks like the Capital brigade has found a new prey. |
Wrong. Not a cap parent. My DD went north to a MD team. Hence why I said Capital OR one of the MD teams. Not suprised with the reading comprehension from a YJ parent. |
Multiple posts. When someone asks for your advice on how to do it, that's the invitation to jump with your opinion/advice. Not to be an a** when they have their own path in mind and are just voicing it. You sound like a real gem. Parents should be flocking to go drive and hang with folks like you. |
This is laughable. Will check back in 1.5 years. Hard to beat CLC recruiting record. Easily one of the top ten clubs for recruiting in the country. |
No, the YJMA player who was invited to join Hero’s Green is the same age as all the other 2030 girls. She’s still close friends with many of the girls on the YJMA team - they all attend and play lacrosse together at Stone Ridge - along with the BLC player who went to M&D Black. SR will have an incredible high school team.

I have a 2030... should her club be doing something to get her recruited right now? |
Not at all. 28s should be starting general looking and maybe hitting a prospect day that is close to home just to see how it is but that is it. |
