I am trying to get a sense of what the current market price is for regular cleaning. I live in MoCo and have a 4500 sq Ft house. Looking for biweekly cleaning. I previously lived in an apartment and have paid $150/200 for biweekly cleanings.
For larger houses, how do they decide how much to clean/what to focus on every time they come? I can’t imagine they’re doing a thorough top to bottom cleaning. Do you have them focus on specific things (I.e. bathrooms, kitchen)? |

I think you need to just interview a few cleaners and see what they say.
In my experience, the $200ish biweekly cleaning will be a team for your size house, and it’s the same basic wipe down/vacuum/mop every time. Bathrooms get wiped down, kitchen gets wiped down, rugs/carpet vacuumed and some basic dusting. Anything beyond that seems to be the domain of weekly cleaners or part time housekeepers. I totally get it, because if they spent any of their biweekly time doing deeper tasks, they would miss part of the wipe down and people would be cranky. Imo biweekly cleaning really helps me keep up, but it’s not enough to keep the house really clean. |
| Thorough cleaning every two weeks. $200. 6000 sq feet. |
| 4,000 sq. ft and I get a thorough clean for $130 every other week. It's one woman and I've used her for the last ten years. She's phenomenal and dread the day she retires! |
I hope you’re giving her raises every year and a bigger one in 2023. That’s really low. |
| 2500 sq ft and $200 every other week. Two cleaners that spend a little over 2 hours total, so it's about $50/hr pp, which seems to be about right. |
How long is she working?? That seems like a ton of work for very little pay. |
But she doesn’t. You are exploiting her. You should be ashamed. |
| We have 2500 sw ft. $160 for weekly cleaning. Its amazing. |
| 6500 sq ft. 200 biweekly. |
| 2300 sq feet. $200 every other week. They do an amazing job! |
| 2500 square feet, $165 biweekly. My guy and his team itemized the initial estimate, so it tells you specifically what they do. Also, you can try to respectfully negotiate, he came in at I think $195 (my prior was $200, before that $140). Estimates can vary. |
| 2500 sq feet, $145 biweekly |
| Wow. All of y’all are getting a deal. I was paying $240 once a month for 2400 sq feet in NoVA. Plus I was tipping $20 each. (And nobody come for me for tipping—that is a hard job.) |
PP here. Are y’all using the big companies? Or do you have individuals or what? |
