| Dance school recommends couple of different ones but figured I would ask here as well. Esp. For first time fitting/patient staff for 12 y/o. |
| Cinnamon tree in Herndon used to be very good at this..not sure who is doing their fittings now. |
| Looks like the Cinnamon Tree has moved to Manassas. |
| Every year, our studio in Alexandria takes all new pointe students to Dance Supplies in Severna park as a group. Not the most convenient, but the are good at what they do and have an enormous inventory |
Wrong! Cinnamon tree is in Herndon, just at a larger location. She bought an existing store in Manassas as well, so now have two locations. Several at my DD’s studio have gone to Cinnamon Tree for years-they are great. |
| Cinnamon Tree has been around forever! I used to go there for fittings and I’m 48 lol. |
| DDs are consistently happy with Liesl's in Woodbridge. They both have a very slight preference for Natalya for fittings but everyone there is happy to take as much time as they need in their quest for the "perfect" shoe. lol |
| Second the recommendation for Liesl’s Dancewear in Woodbridge. They have a huge selection of pointe shoes, know their stuff, and will take the time to ensure a proper fit for your dancer. |
| We went to cinnamon tree in Herndon. |
| OP here. Thank you. |
| Our studio takes all the girls to Liesl’s in Manassas. |

Depending on where you are in NoVa, Footlights in Frederick MD might be as convenient as Manassas -- and is great.

We went to Liesl's the first time. I don't think it was necessarily their fault (kids newly on pointe don't really know how the shoes are supposed to feel and can't give great feedback), but my daughter's first shoe made her lose a big toenail, which was a big pain literally and figuratively. She got a different shoe from Liesl's after that and went to several other stores just to see if they had some different options.
Honestly, the best fitting she had by far was a virtual fitting with Josephine from the Pointe Shop in California. (She's an internet celebrity.) She asked the size of my daughter's current shoe, looked at her foot very briefly, and immediately suggested a different shoe that turned out to be the one she has stuck with. Supposedly they can do virtual fittings for first-timers as well (I have no idea how, and I'm not sure I'd recommend it), but if you feel like you're not finding what you need locally, I would give it a try. |
| Any feedback on The Dance Shoppe in Centerville? Our dance studio recommends that or Liesl. |
Same but not too happy with her fittings. My older daughter went elsewhere and it was much better but closed during covid. |
