overall thoughts on your kids high school graduation 2024?

I have a kid who graduated at Rockville High this year and he honestly enjoyed the graduation. He enjoyed it. The only downside he said was the unnecessary change from the schools switch from DAR to UMBC.

Of course he enjoyed it. He was graduating from this 3rd world school system.

All good here. Also had an RHS graduate. We really like UMBC — lots of parking, lots of space. I thought the ceremony was great. Altogether a great experience for my kid and the family.

MCPS has only a limited number of time slots at DAR. They need to use other venues too.

My kid was an RM grad. We also used UMBC. No complaints.

The kid who did a hand stand in the graduate walkout was the funniest part there.

Keep ceremonies in MoCo, not DC and not BalCounty. Read other thread on graduations for venue ideas within MoCo.

Other threads offered no ideas on MOCO locations that would fit graduations.

Had a daughter who graduated at WJ. It was very mediocre. We had the old lady as one of the speakers and it was not a good speech to be totally honest. Also, one of the one of the roll callers called out the graduated too fast without pausing, which kinda ruined it too.

This isn't an issue for me. In fact, many of the venues in DC are much nicer and preferable

Teaching in MoCo for twenty years. They're the same as they were in the early 2000s.

The ceremony was very well done. The student speakers were good and the official speaker was excellent. I believe he was a Delegate. We were pleasantly surprised.

Somehow I am suspecting that your kid actually did not say that.

My kid graduated at UMBC. Everything went well. My kid was happy. My family and I, attending in person, were happy. My family watching the livestream at home were happy. The only downside was the tornado warning on the way home, but I don't hold MCPS responsible for severe weather.

Which old lady? This old lady? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Visit_(play)
