| People always recommend freezing eggs to woken over 35 but I read that it's embryos that have to be frozen not to mention egg freezing can lead to early menopause with the drugs? Wouldn't it make things worse? |
| How would it make things worse? |
Not OP but the hormones women inject to be able to extract several eggs at the time are extremely intense. And if they extra multiple eggs but the egg implantation is ineffective, as often happens, then the woman would be worse off |
|
Still not understanding how one would be worse off. Worst case it doesnt work and you start over/move on? |
Has a high fail percentage. Most women failed only to later conceive naturally. |
| No |
This cant be a serious question... |
No, worst case youve injected yourself with extremely intense hormones that essentially put your body through 20 period cycles over the course of one month. And you're also out 20 eggs that you can no longer conceive naturally with. |
| It's risky. What if the power goes out? It's thunderstorm season. |
|
Well eggs or embryos would have the same impacts from the drugs.
But freezing embryos is more likely to yield a live birth because you fertilize fresh, PGT test, freeze, and only have to thaw and implant. As opposed to frozen eggs, which have to thaw, fertilize, make it to embryo stage, test for genetic abnormalities, freeze, thaw again, and implant. |
Egg freezing does not lead to early menopause. Who told you that? |
| There is a lot of misinformation in this thread. |
That doesnt sound worse off at all |
| In my experience, the texture is always terrible, even if you scramble them. |
