at what age can I stop getting bikini waxes :-)

Anonymous
I’m almost 60 yrs old and obviously am post-menopausal. The skin in my bikini area has gotten more sensitive as I’ve aged and waxing hurts more and I’m more prone to irritation from it.

Do women ever stop getting bikini waxes? (assuming you were someone who once got them, vs someone who shaved or went natural) Like does it become not necessary at some point because of hair loss, or does the skin get too sensitive?

I see many women 80s and older at the pool and they look groomed! Curious how this plays out as women age.

Can you not switch to shaving?

Why do you not want to switch to something else, like shaving or laser or nothing (assuming you can cover what's there with a different swim bottom)?

I tried waxing as a teen and hated it. I have shaved ever since, but I'm told laser is also an option. But the reality is that there isn't much to take away, so if I wanted to, I could perhaps switch to a more conservative cut of bikini that's not high leg.

Maybe get a boyshort?

This is OP. Thanks for the permission to stop 😊. I plan to continue so long as the hair level requires it and I wear a bathing suit. As I was last getting waxed I started to wonder why I never see older women going into the wax rooms (I’m sure I’m an older woman to most of you on dcum - I’m a long time reader).

I’ve never been able to shave in that area without getting a shave rash and ingrown hairs. I’ve never looked into laser - I don’t know many women who have done laser in their bikini area, I think that became more standard with women younger than I am. So for me it is waxing or natural!

Ask yourself why you wax. It's clear that you don't like it because you're asking IF you can stop.

I am going to suggest that most people stop giving a damn about what other people think in their 40s and do what makes them happy. You do you.

I stopped in my late 30s. I'm 52 now and still just use a personal shaver on the bikini area. Smooth and comfortable. And no more ingrowns, cost of waxing, etc.
