what does a sex therapist do?

Anonymous
tell you how to do it? what is it they do that you can't do yourself in the natural course of your relationship and/or that can't be addressed by a normal therapist (ie, grief or distrust)?

Is this a real thing or just a setup for Penthouse letters?

I was hoping for a substantive answer, but honestly, this one made the OP very worthwhile. Can you please start bringing the boom boom to other threads? There have been a couple of uptight MIL ones recently that could really use some of that good sex therapy you're talking about.

Actually I was just joking around and found that typing boom boom boom gave me like an automatic prompt so I did it a couple of times and that was the result. Sadly it didn't work this time.

But, yes, it could be the next DCUM meme. Sure.

Boom boom boom.

Refers you to a real psychologist for a neuropysch test.
Dude, she’s not going to just dig in teaching you new moves and trust falls. First she has to assess the level of abuse or games or hurt. Or outsource that.

Both people have to want to have sx with each other and say so multiple times. Then she wusses out what the physical obstacle is or just too much restraint. If mental disorders pop up she’s out of her league but makeup charge u for sessions… why not…

If only there was some place you could research this:

It depends on what the problem is. Is it communication? Is one of you having difficulty completing? Is there a libido mismatch. Do you understand your own arousal patterns, if you’re partnered can you read theirs. It can be like couples counseling or coaching. There are some practitioners that teach you how to orgasm if you cannot.

Have you been to an individual or couples therapist who truly was knowledgeable and forthright about sex?

That looks like ai generated word salad - what’s wrong with asking people?

I’ve never remotely considered going to one - I’ve just seen people hear talking about it. I can’t imagine a workable relationship where you have to talk to someone else who is not your partner about sex. Seems like it defeats the point, unless you’re having sex with the therapist too.
