Why is Biden preping for the debate? I think it s waste of time we all know who will win, and even if Trump does do as well its because the other guy is "studying" Why does he need to prepare for a debatE? |
I remember we had a special name for people like Biden back in high school. |
This is standard protocol for any type of debate. In the case of President, there is so much information and nuance to consider. I'm not aware of any effective debaters who employ Trump's strategy of incoherently rambling, lying, and insulting. |
Trump did debate prep, too - remember, it's when he gave COVID to Chris Christie and almost killed him.
https://www.axios.com/2021/12/09/chris-christ...onald-trump-covid-19 Everyone does debate prep. I'm sure Trump is doing it now, too. |
Not for 'a well meaning man with a poor memory' |
Historically every candidate has spent prep time ahead of Presidential debates.
I'm also sure that Trump's team is prepping him (or at least trying) ahead of the debate as well. And it's not as though Trump has a whole lot else to do with his time other than campaign and focus on Biden, given Judge Engoron has put running of the Trump Org under an independent party. |
I am sure they are trying. Trump is Trump. You aren't going to change him now. |
Valedictorian? (the one at my high school wasn't the smartest guy, but he worked his tail off while also being a really nice person) |
I think the Trump team isn't talking about Trump doing any prep because they want to keep "yabut Trump didn't prep for it" in their back pocket in case he doesn't do well. |
Exactly. Though they probably want to pretend like he isn't prepping and pretend he's just winging it and is a Stable MIT Genius if he does well. Or, if he doesn't do well, falsely pretend like he didn't or couldn't "because of his busy schedule" - ya know, "dealing with Afghanistan" or whatever other fake bullshit he pretends to be busy with https://thehill.com/homenews/media/4729501-tr...-white-house-author/ |
Trump's "too busy" to debate - what a laugh ![]() |
He can do one sentence. It was possible for the sentence to have two parts, four years ago. I guess we will see if he can still manage that. "I will build a wall and mexico will pay for it." |
This is something that CNN (and other outlets) have long struggled with - is their goal to report the facts, or is their goal to stay neutral? Because you can't do both at the same time when Trump is concerned. And when Tapper compared Trump to Hitler he was stating facts. Both referred to people they opposed as "vermin" and "poisoning the blood" of their country. Both accused the media of lying in order to counter any negative stories about them. When Trump agreed to the debate, he could have added a condition that he had the right to veto the choice of moderators. He didn't. This is on him. |
