1 year from first missed period to last period. Menopause officially a year after that

This is so person specific it’s almost useless to ask.

One friend went from regular to nothing in 2 months and hasn’t had one for 2 years.

Another friend went 8 months then had two months of light bleeding.

Then theres me - irregular for 3 years

I had 6 years of hot flashes and other symptoms but regular periods. Then the hot flashes stopped last year. I haven't had a period since December.

No skipping it just stopped?

I skipped a period three years ago. I’ve had hot flashes, night sweats, heavy periods, and other perimenopause symptoms for about four years. Period still going strong.

Started becoming somewhat irregular at age 42-43. I’m now 50. Sometimes I skip two or three months, but for the past four or five months I’ve been pretty regular. This can take a long time and apparently can be vastly different among different women.

Heavy bleeding started 49, 57 just skipped for 3-4 months, then heavy period. Tested still not menopause but hoping this shi$ stops soon.
