RTO drama

Friend is being let go because he won’t RTO. He wants me to find him a WFH job. Like I don’t know how to tell him, he is in no position to be picky because he’s a 50+ year old man in tech.

Some people are just a**holes.

Good for him. Fight the power. If everyone did that, there would be no RTO.

Lots of remote roles in tech - check out the big consultants - but he needs to find his own job and not rope you in.

This is a troll post. Clue is: "He wants me to find him a WFH job."

Once again: employers are allowed to ask for almost anything and workers are allowed to want almost anything. The labor marketplace decides whether you need to report to the office, answer emails at 10pm, get a raise that matches the rate of inflation, get paternity leave, pay for parking at your workplace, etc. There are no rules about most of these things

Are you a jobfinder?

Maybe J1,J2, J3 guy can give him one.

So? It's common to offer up referrals.

Tell him to find positions in the companies where people in your network are, and you can make a targeted referral.
If any jobs he finds are not remote, do not refer.

I am ruling with an Iron Fist. Got them all on the clock. I like to watch the young people drop like flies. WFH is so 2023. RTO is the bandwagon to hop on. I got a perfect rating, max raise and max bonus this year. I literally pull the “come by my office” to every question and anyone WFH ask how their day off was. I refuse any video meeting or phone call.

And I already got new CEO to agree to let me join other boards for money. So going to be over-employed in person and in the open.

I love in a sr. Team meeting this week where head of legal dialed in I asked was she “working remotely” or “remotely working”?

Although today I got great news my old J1 my RSUs popped up hard. Like $800 a share now. I got some shares at $35 a share. Feels almost as good as early 2023 when getting 6 paychecks a month.

If he's white I'd tell him to go F himhimself. White people are such trash.
