On the other side, let's not forget Republican congressman Tim Walberg's unabashed support for genocide when he suggested nuking Gaza to "get it over quick." Biden and the Democrats may be failing on this issue and it's certainly very frustrating, but the Republicans are much, much, much worse.

We're all processing the situation, and this war has led to major paradigm changes globally about Israel. Its image is forever tarnished. Let's give Biden and the Democrats a little more time to catch up. Nobody wants to believe how bad this is, but as the evidence mounts, it's near impossible to avoid the conclusion that Israel is conducting genocide. I hope the ICJ gets an affirmative ruling on genocide out soon and that informs the Biden administration's policies going forward.

You are absolutely right -- a powerful condemnation is not enough. It's a long, long way from enough. It's just a lot better than we're going to get from Trump. We've got two options at present: bad and absolutely horrible.

I’m a Democratic PP who decided today after a lot of contemplation to withhold my vote for Biden over Gaza. I vote in NY, would maybe feel different if I were in a swing state. I totally recognize that Republicans are worse on Israel and basically every other issue. I’m trying to do my part to force change on this issue in my own party. Voting for Biden isn’t going to do that. Reducing his margin in a safe state is really all I can do to signal that I am not happy with his Israel policy and make him pay for it.

I doubt he cares. It just signals to everyone you actually know in the US that you give no shits about women's rights at home.

Republicans have said outright that they want to nuke Gaza. If you think heaping shit on Biden somehow helps your cause or gets Gaza and Palestinians in a better place, then you are SORELY mistaken.

Do you really think Joe is running the show here? Everyone who is blaming Biden forgets that the man is too old and out of it to be capable of making a sound decision. The decisions with respect to Israel are being made by the important members of his cabinet, members who - news flash, all seem to have deep links to the Jewish State of Israel. I believe close to 1/3 of Biden's cabinet position is Jewish - more important it's full of Jewish people with ancestors directly linked to the Holocaust. This is not an unbiased third party group of people that is capable of looking at the situation with rational eyes and making sound decisions. This group of elites within the cabinet is exactly why the vast majority of the American public has been ignored, lied to, or paid vacuous lip service with regards to their opinions on the matter.

I’m a Democratic PP who decided today after a lot of contemplation to withhold my vote for Biden over Gaza. I vote in NY, would maybe feel different if I were in a swing state. I totally recognize that Republicans are worse on Israel and basically every other issue. I’m trying to do my part to force change on this issue in my own party. Voting for Biden isn’t going to do that. Reducing his margin in a safe state is really all I can do to signal that I am not happy with his Israel policy and make him pay for it.

Sure, but my argument is that we as a society have taken it to the extreme. No one wants to have kids anymore, which is absolutely insane on regards to human history.

Apparently Biden and Democrats believe supporting Israel is more important than maintaining America's democracy.

Biden issued a powerful condemnation of the murder of the WCK workers, but I agree that he needs to do more. Democrats are also speaking out more and more. On the other side, let's not forget Republican congressman Tim Walberg's unabashed support for genocide when he suggested nuking Gaza to "get it over quick." Biden and the Democrats may be failing on this issue and it's certainly very frustrating, but the Republicans are much, much, much worse.

We're all processing the situation, and this war has led to major paradigm changes globally about Israel. Its image is forever tarnished. Let's give Biden and the Democrats a little more time to catch up. Nobody wants to believe how bad this is, but as the evidence mounts, it's near impossible to avoid the conclusion that Israel is conducting genocide. I hope the ICJ gets an affirmative ruling on genocide out soon and that informs the Biden administration's policies going forward.

Do you really think Joe is running the show here? Everyone who is blaming Biden forgets that the man is too old and out of it to be capable of making a sound decision. The decisions with respect to Israel are being made by the important members of his cabinet, members who - news flash, all seem to have deep links to the Jewish State of Israel. I believe close to 1/3 of Biden's cabinet position is Jewish - more important it's full of Jewish people with ancestors directly linked to the Holocaust. This is not an unbiased third party group of people that is capable of looking at the situation with rational eyes and making sound decisions. This group of elites within the cabinet is exactly why the vast majority of the American public has been ignored, lied to, or paid vacuous lip service with regards to their opinions on the matter.

Where did you get that from this comment? The cabinet is not directly elected by the American people. They are appointed by the president and approved by the senate - ergo there are powerful Jewish members of the cabinet that were not elected by the American people.

Not the OP, but guessing it has something to do with the scale. Probably 40,000 dead in 6 months. It’s much better to do these operations in small numbers in a clandestine manner to avoid media attention and public outcry.

Yeah, well, that's probably true. But the benefit of the doubt has been squandered beyond recognition.

Let me be clear: NOBODY with a cultural or religious or bizarre-o evangelical connection to that region should be within 10 clicks of any decisions being made by the U.S. government that affect that region. Same with anyone who has taken as much as a dime from APIAC, CAIR or any other group lobbying for one side or the other. There is too much trust completely lost, too much lobbying going on, and for me, when I see a U.S. Senator from goddamned Pennsylvania (who has no known connection to Israel) literally sprinting up to his rooftop to taunt protestors with an Israeli flag, a red line has very clearly been crossed.
