- always bring lunch to work - cut and style my own hair - get shoes re-soled - only buy fruits and veggies that are on sale - always carry snacks in my purse so I don't always need to buy food if out and about - use wool dryer balls instead of buying dryer sheets - only pay for a manicure or pedicure 2x year. I mostly do them at home. - avoid toll roads unless I truly cannot - buy a lot of basic food in bulk from wholesale stores and freeze what is freezeable |

Color my own hair.
Shop at Lidl and Aldi. Thrift stores for clothes and accessories and Facebook marketplace for furniture. |
|
Reuse plastic bags and glass jars whenever possible.
Buy only one roll of paper towels at a time and use cloth when it is out. Also bring lunch to work and coffee. Hem or repair clothes for myself and kid. Live in a condo rather than a house. |

OP here...I should have added HHI and NW.
Anyways, mine...HHI: 140k NW: 300k. I got a late start because of grad school. I am saving a lot to catch up. |

Try very hard not to waste food (a little still happens of course.) Buy good when on sale, shop at Costco, etc.
Do all housecleaning, yard work, and many home repairs ourselves. Drive cars for 10 years, and purchase brands that are known for low maintenance costs. |
|
Never order anything but (free) water at restaurants.
Only buy clothes that don’t require dry cleaning A lot of the things you mention I used to do as well; now HHI is $1M so I’ve been indulging in things like monthly manicures, getting my hair professionally colored, buying whatever fruit the kids and I want no matter the season. Still feels weird to me to do these things after many years of being careful. |

90% of my kids clothes come from thrift store. Most of my shorts and pants come from there now too.
I can afford new I just can’t justify it when my kids pants are gonna get a hole in or grass stains on them. Water in restaurants as well. I hate buying food out too, happy to go out to a restaurant for a family dinner but for a day trip somewhere I always pack. My income is 65k but HHI is close to 200k I dont understand waiting in line for Costco gas or going out of my way for cheaper gas. I prob pay more than I should for that because I just fill up when needed. |
| I buy Veuve instead of Dom |
| Where are you guys thrifting? Like big mega centers? We only have a very small place near us and it's mostly grandma donations. |

- Eat out rarely
- Shop at the cheaper grocery store and buy in-season produce and store brand everything else - Kids clothes from Walmart and Target - Do our own home maintenance, yard maintenance, and house cleaning - I give DH and the kids haircuts (learned how from YouTube) - Buy used cars and drive them as long as possible HHI: $225 NW: $1.7 million |
Unique thrift store. There are 2 in moco. Mondays and Thursdays are 25% off too. They’re huge. |
|
Reuse plastic bags, aluminum foil, etc.
Keep boxes and ribbons from gifts; reuse as needed. (And not above regifting either.) Sell/ consign items when possible. Still driving car from 2007. Very basic cable package. No Netflix, etc. Rarely pay for any form of entertainment. Books from library. HHI $450,000. NW $11M |
|
-Have kids make birthday/greeting cards from their art supplies.
-Have kid join the church choir -free music lessons -Home car wash -Have your kid work at a food service job - free meals or baked goods -work at a private school- tuition break |
| this all seems pretty extreme! |

Bought a nice townhouse in 2008 and never moved
Buy slightly used cars for cash Don’t vacation excessively Use public schools for high school. The rest is honestly peanuts so I don’t even think about it. |
