urgh it kills me.
No, I get sad when my kids leave for college. But summer is fun and the kids are excited that school is over, so no, I'm not sad on the last day of school.
Yes. I hated the last day of school as a kid and I hate it now that I have kids. Transitions are always sad to me. I’ll feel the same when school starts up again in the fall.
Yes and my (little) kids are sad too! They love school.
Yes, especially when they’ve have a good teacher and a good year in school. They’re a bit sad and so am I. The spring is also a very busy season for me both with work and kids’ activities. This year I was way behind on summer planning and we were immediately going out of town for a week long extended family get together. It hit around the last day of school that I’d missed registration for a couple of later summer opportunities.
yessss total existential crisis |
Yes! My kids have both had a wonderful year of school w/ the best teachers yet and I'm sad that it's ending plus next year I'm less excited about the teacher options for the grades they're going into...we'll see but it would be very hard to live up to the experiences they had this year. I love summer but it's always a difficult emotional transition for me and the kids when school ends.
I did every year before this year. This week has been sheer relief that my daughter gets to leave her middle school behind.
No. But I dread summer where we have to navigate a bunch of camps with no bussing and wonky schedules.
I did until the MS/HS years. But now the kids are so ready for a break, so many stupid rules at school that punish everyone not just the bad eggs, and friend drama. I welcome summer. Should have come a while ago!
Nope.
We’re about to tell my rising third grader she’s moving schools next year and I’m dreading it. I’m not usually emotional over these things, but I’m so sad this year.
Oh hell no
No, not at all.
|
Yes. It’s the awareness of time going by so fast!
I’m a teacher and even don’t like the end of the year…and most of my student didn’t either. School is where they see their friends, feel happy safe and loved. We really need year round school! |
