| Especially on two-lane highways with a speed limit of 55+? Just curious. |
| Bad eyesight. |

they're old
they're texting they're putting on makeup they're eating they're just oblivious Take your pick. |
| they are afraid to drive on highways but have to for some reason. |
| If someone was really driving 27mph in a 55 multi lane road, that’s incredibly dangerous. I’d have wondered if they were okay medically. I’d probably have called 911 and given their location before they caused a major accident. |
| I seriously doubt they are going as slow as you think they are OP. If they truly are, they are probably high. |
There's actually a stretch in my town where this happens multiple times a week. There's always a single person backing up traffic for miles. I want to be charitable and assume it's lack of awareness, but wow. |
|
Dude stop driving so fast! They probably aren’t going 55 but rather the speed limit 65-69 de facto.
Certain you are not. After pandemic and George Floyd cops stopped caring but I’ve seen three horrific crashes - so please slow down. |
Your assumption is wrong. |
| I’ve seen something like that only a couple of times in my life and both times it was a grandpa looking guy. I can’t believe this is happening to you regularly where it’s truly half the speed limit. |
| Their car is a POS and doesn't have the speed pick-up or the brakes to handle the highway. |
This. OP is probably 20 mph over the limit and the other driver is 5 or 10 below so OP feels like it's half. |
Incorrect. When the speed limit is 55 and I'm driving 27, that means they're going roughly 30. Ok, so not quite half, but close enough. |
And yes it happens regularly. I moved from the DMV southeast last year, and I'm struggling to adapt to the local drivers. |

After a really bad car accident, I was nervous the first few times I was driving again. I was a little scared. I just need to get behind the wheel a few time to build my confidence.
I’m back to normal now. But maybe they were spooked. Cut people some slack. Be a good human. Maybe they are driving to the hospital because their parent just had a heart attack. You never know about a person’s situation. |
