For those who have committed to a club in the fall, can you share whether you know what ur DC team roster will look like? That is, how many are returning players or new ones, and what age group?
How did you find out? Through the club or parents or some other means? If there is a roster already, how firm do you think it is? Thank you! |
Oops, title should say makeup of (not for)! |
| We are on a girls 16 U team and about half of the team is returning half is new and we found out by looking at the roster on our app. |
| we checked the app once we accepted the offer and we were added to the team. |
|
App on phone highlighted new roster this week for next fall.
Other kids team: U12 we have no idea who is A team or Who is on B team unless the kids and or parent talk. We each received an acceptance to play on A or B team, but no one knows the full roster. The club keeps it secret until August 1st. |
| Depends on which club you are at. Some release the next year's rosters now other wait until July or August. |
| U13 parent here. I know my kid made the top team at his club, and from word of mouth I think I know most of what the roster will (but not all). Nothing official from the club yet though. |
| My player is rising u17 and returning to his team. The kids have an active player chat and based on that he deduced that 17 of 20 players are returning. It was a really great group of kids (talented, kind, supportive) so we are happy about that. Of course there are always last minute surprises so who knows if that’s really the case. We haven’t seen an official roster. |
^^its the top team of 3 if it matters. |
Wow! I can't believe people go for that-accepting a mystery spot and mystery coach. |
|
HS age ECNL. About half returning, half new. Kids have a group chat.
We’ve had big changes like this many times before, and it has generally been a good thing. Another kid is uLittle NCSL. Know a couple of players returning from talking to parents, but that roster is mostly unknown. |

I think it depends on whether and which app the team uses (e.g. Demosphere, Teamsnap, playmetrics, etc.). That information usually is populated there, so once the club sends you an invite to the team and you accept and pay your deposit, and then they send an invite to the relevant app, you will generally get access to your roster there.
We knew our set U14 roster as people accepted and invitations, and it's a mix of returning and new players, per usual. Word of mouth (mix of parents and players talking) filled in gaps while we waited for players to receive invites and accept offers. |

Unpopular method (come at me) parent via coach before it was thrown in playmetrics…
Girls team one.. has new girls from brave/union explosion… ton of returning girls and those running from md clubs. Maybe an fcv girl. Girls team two has some girls coming n hot from the fcv implosion looking to take over the team. With mostly returning players. Rosters are in playmetrics if ur paid up We will see how it all pans out |

For my rising U13 player, the club was very forthcoming about who was returning and who was not.
For my rising U15 player, the club added him to their team snap account as soon as we accepted. The entire team is coming back (except who was let go, eek), and they added 4 new players. Both clubs only have one team per age. |
| Do you think the roster is more stable for top teams (eg ECNL/MLSNext/EDP1/etc) or is that club dependent? |
