| Flying in versus driving. Do they make travel sized tents? Would you check chairs? |
| None. I either buy stuff for cheap there or I book somewhere that provides chairs. I've never used a tent at the beach. |
| A Sherpa. |
Isn’t it $40+ to check anything these days?! What we have done: Go to Walmart or a”beach” store and buy $15 chairs and $5 towels and leave or donate them when you leave. Rent chairs/umbrellas on the beach. Stay in an airbnb that provides beach supplies. |
| I bring something unusual, throw pillow covers. Slip them over the existing throw pillows, for the couch. Brightens up the place and too often, throw pillows in a rental house are pretty gross. |
|
We travel with a shibumi shade. They fold up really small.
I would not check chairs. |
This. We always stay somewhere that provides those things. We’ve traveled with small beach toys when our kids were young, and snorkels now that they are older. Other than that, nothing. |
| I only travel with whatever fits in my carry on. |
| We have some light weight towels/towel sheets that we bring but we don't being actual gear. We tend to get rentals that provide chairs or rent chairs when we get there. |
What? |
| None, either buy cheap stuff and leave it there or rent. We rented the last time and it was great. They set it up and took down for us each day we were on the beach. |
| Just rent it there. Of course you don't fly with a tent FFS. |
| Nothing, if I am flying to a beach we have a house there or stay at a resort that has what we needZ |
| Rent that stuff or buy cheaply and leave there. (But I’m saying this as someone who has never brought a tent to the beach and usually just bring towels instead of beach chairs. We don’t spend a lot of time sitting though: we’re in the ocean, playing in the sand, throwing a ball, taking a walk, etc) |
| I travel with a coffee maker and am debating bringing it in checked luggage on a trip this summer. It's a thermal carafe. I need my coffee when I wake up and I don't want to get dressed to get it--defeats the purpose of vacationing. |
