If your child was admitted as a spring admit to UMDCP, what were their stats? Did they do Freshman Connection, and if so, how was their experience? |
Not sure my kid has the stats for fall admission - MoCo W school, 3.9 UW / 4.6 W, 1300 SAT (TO), performing arts major (hopefully strong audition). Would be thrilled with spring admission. |
I’d ask your school counselor OP. |
I'm not sure TO is the right approach here. |
Im curious about this too |
4.2 W and 3.9 UW TO (SAT was 1320) Not MoCo though Has been involved with UMD, which probably helped. |
We were told that UMD does not want to see SAT scores below 1380. |
About 30% of UMD is transfer students, and the acceptance rates are pretty high. You might find these data helpful: https://irpa.umd.edu/CampusCounts/Admissions/apps_ug.pdf |
TO (SAT was a 1370)
Weighted 4.7 Significant extracurriculars Was admitted in the spring but chose to go elsewhere |
j I thought everyone who is offered Spring admission is put in letters and sciences, but I am happy to be wrong. Some majors are easier to transfer into than others. My own kid with a 3.9 UW GPA and 1450 SAT was offered spring admission. He wanted computer science so chose to attend elsewhere. |
PP, CS, got it. That was what I was trying to determine when I asked about applied field of study. |
As has been stated many, many times, UMD admits major blind. Once you are in then you are competitively considered for your major, if it’s an LEP. |
19 APs, 5s in 17, 4s in 2 of them. Unweighted 3.9. Did two high school internships In rockets and engineering. Also created little libraries for elementary and middle schools throughout the county. |
In state? |
So if OP student showed interest in say, elementary education, it would make no difference? |
