s/o if you wear a bra and bike shorts out in public, do people approach you?

This is s/o that Whole Foods thread. As a never nude myself, I am always covered up so I have no personal experience with this and am curious what it's like for others.

If you wear a sports bra and leggings or bike shorts as clothes - do people treat you differently than when you're wearing more modest outfits? Do men treat you differently? Do other women? Is there a community of hot women in workout clothes who have a special nod for each other? Or is it just normal clothes at this point and no one does anything differently than when you're wearing other outfits?

What's it like going out in an outfit like that?

I sometimes wear leggings and a sports bra on the metro (on my way to take an exercise class for example). No one so much as notices. The only time it made a difference was when I was about 4 months pregnant and people would randomly congratulate me or otherwise comment on my pregnancy when I was wearing skintight workout clothes but not otherwise which made sense because it was obvious in leggings but not when I was wearing real clothes.

If breasts start spilling out, or the shorts are way too tight, then it becomes vulgar and inappropriate. But if all the bit are covered that should be covered, the figure is smooth, then I don't see the problem. And this goes for any article of clothing, such as low-cut tops or too short shorts. If the clothes are too revealing, it's always becomes ugly and overly-sexed, regardless of whether they're athletic or not. This is a problem for very buxom and curvy women, who can't wear all the things thin women wear. Yes, I know we're all supposed to be body-positive, but that's the truth.

So this is not a question about sportswear. It's a question about wearing something appropriate for your figure. Different women will need different sports bras and shorts. If they pick the ones that reduce wobble and have adequate breast and butt coverage, then no one cares about thighs, navels or clavicles on display.

I would never go out in that. But, I do have nipples that stand out a lot. When I used to run and get all sweaty and have them sticking out through my sports bra, I’d definitely get men stopping to talk to me.
That was back in my thirties, sigh…

I use to wear volleyball shorts and sports bra to Bikram and I’d run an errand on my way sometimes , nobody ever paid attention.

I got more men hitting on me at Home Depot in clothes with paint as I tried to get more supplies I ran out of, or other projects when I was working on my house.

The most attention I ever got was pregnant everyone stares at you and smiles.

This is OP - and it's actually really refreshing hearing you can walk around in these outfits and not get harassed.

As long as you feel the same about fat men with their shirts off. Gross

why not put on a tee shirt over the bra when leaving the gym?

That's what I would do but I hate attention.

I live in a warmer area and people dress in next to nothing all year and nobody gives a second look unless the person has a hot body (man or woman), then crowds gather, accidents happen, people bump into things from gawking... some people have no shame in how much they gawk but the hot person (I'm talking AI generated looking lol) never seems to mind

You answered your question with your follow up statement.

These women LOVE attention. That’s it. That’s the only reason to go out and about in public in the equivalent of underwear.

I would not want that much bare skin touching the train surfaces. Ick!

Disagree. Many can be they just DON’T care so they wear what is appropriate for the weather and that may be sports bra/tank and bike shorts. Same applies to guys who take shirts off playing sports are not always about the attention either. Same applies to larger men and women that wear swimsuits others think are “not appropriate” for their size. Life too short, wear what want and move on.
