I’m a 41yo woman - 5’2 and 125lbs. I’ve been working on increasing my weights lately (I do orange theory). Last night my 5 and 7yo boys both asked me to carry them upstairs - so I randomly decided to see if i could carry both (they were in weird needy moods, I don’t usually carry them at all).
Easily made it up the stairs with 95lbs of kid on me. I think I probably could have done 3 flights before it started to get really hard. It feels amazing to think I can carry 100lbs like it’s nbd |
get it OP! do you deadlift? |
Sometimes as part of orange theory but it’s not quite real deadlifts to me |
I love this kind of win where you see your hard work pay off in real life situations. Way to go, OP! |
OP that is awesome.
Can I ask what you are lifting in your Orange Theory workouts -- I have also been trying to increase my weights in workouts and have a similar build to you (though I'm a smidge taller). |
I’ve stopped being afraid of the 50 or even 60lb weight for things like sumo squats. Usually 40s for deadlift I think. 20s for benchpress and shoulder press. 40s for step ups. I went through a kick recently where i bumped up the weight of at each one exercise in every class until everything was at a higher weight. I figured I could always drop back down after the first set but usually didn’t need to |
* at least one exercise every class |
That is so dangerous to carry anyone over 25 pounds up stairs! What were you thinking??? |
You’re kidding right? |
