| The results are in and the DC area ECNL teams performed miserably at the event with Fairfax Brave finishing in last place and Bethesda finishing 3rd from last place. Best performer was Union, but they didn't play any good teams. |
| Union did well. As did md united arlington and nva. Who are you trying to burn here? Bethesda 08s did well? Weird post. |
I agree. Ironically no mention of NVA who finished the season #1 in 2009 ECNL and went 0-3 in North Carolina against other Playoff teams. MDU went 3-0. Arlington went 2-1. Pipeline went 2-1 I think. So poster pointed out Fairfax Brave and Bethesda only but not the top team in our area going 0-3????? No context either about strength of schedule either. Just hey look, these two teams in the 2009 group went 0-3 yet didn’t mention any other teams in the area. No mention of other age groups. Certainly ex-Brave parent or Bethesda parent. Possibly Loudoun parent redirecting. Maybe even both. Obvious overzealous parent is obvious. |
| If you're going to post shout outs how come you don't mention that NVA 09s who are #1 in the midatlantic division finished 5th from last place...two slots above Bethesda. Yea, that's what I thought! |
| I saw a pickup game between some kids I think were from Arlington and some others who may have been Reston. The Reston kids were better. Therefore, GFR is better than Arlington and is the equal of the top clubs in San Diego and Dallas. Or maybe they play for Herndon. All hail Herndon. Or GFR. And Arlington is clearly awful. |
| Slim pickings on 2009 teams around here. |
Who in their right mind would take the time to post this at 10pm-ish on a Sunday night except someone overly obsessed with a team they aren’t on. I mean honestly, who cares? |
Bethesda 09 and BRAVE did not have a win in league play this year. Not surprising they had a bad weekend. NVA 09 is supposedly an amazing team. Lots of chest beating on DCUM from those parents. |
| When will you people realize these are showcase events. The purpose is to showcase PLAYERS for college coaches. Being at the event is what matters not teams and game scores. College coaches don’t care about what the rest of the team is doing or the score. They are watching individual performances. |
+1,000,000,000 Just what I was thinking, showcases scores do not matter, this is for the college scouts. Actually no games matter, they are all for the scouts |
Bethesda had one win and a tie during regular season. Doesn’t matter though. Still not good. Arlington had a great win over Delco. Lots of changes next year. Brave is no more and VDA added five top 09s in our region and includes a USYNT player along with four more USYNT ID center players. Will be one of the top 09 teams in country and make run for Natty Championship. |
And you could say the same thing for every opponent. Excuse. |
College coaches are not recruiting 2009s right now. I watched multiple 09s including Loudoun, Union, and Arlington. Not many coaches if any at these games. The ones that were there were likely waiting for an 08 or 07 game. |
Lol. When NVA announced that they would become NVA, Mark Ryan said that it was to improve in National Competitions. Who cares if they win Mid Atlantic. If they can't compete on a National Level the girls won't be recruited. 0-3 in an event that didn't include the #1 team in the country for 2009's is unimpressive. Maybe Loudoun Soccer aka NVA should reevaluate how they select and train players. Kick and run doesn't work. |
| Union finished 7th- what did you want? No shock that Brave finished last. |
