Hemorrhoids (TMI)

Anonymous
I have had them twice before, post pregnancy and a couple years back. I am now having the absolute worse pain I have ever had. Could not sleep last night, between a 5/10 and a 9/10 near pass out level all day, in tears. I have tried prep h, bath with epsom salts, pushing back in...Nothing is working. Is there any chance it will get better? Anything else I can try? The other times it resolved on its own but I was able to push them back. I can't even concentrate on anything because it hurts so much.

Every time I've gotten hemorrhoids they've gone away. I've had some very bad external ones. Sleeping on your stomach helps. Est tons of fiber so your poop slides right out. Give it two weeks. If it is that bad, then go to the doctor.

You have already tried sitting baths. But what about your diet? You should eat as much fibre-rich food as possible. I mean vegetables, fruit and wholemeal products. This helps to make your stools lighter and reduces the strain on your bowels. But since you've been struggling with this for a long time, you should see a doctor.

No, since yesterday. And I had watermelon for dinner and I take fiber supplements. I am very regular and hardly ever constipated. I wasn't constipated yesterday at all. Yesterday I was doing very hard labor in my yard though cleaning pavers on my knees and I guess squatting a lot, so maybe it is related. The pain radiates to my buttocks. I would much rather not go to a doctor for this. I am absolutely mortified.

Get the Preparation H with lidocaine. Expensive but 100% worth it. Life changing, I promise.

Try the YouTube channel Your Friendly Proctologist— lots of good info there. You can search in the playlists for relevant topics.

Good luck and feel better!

Docs have seen everything!! You can also try to get an appointment at a GI practice.l / sometimes they have cancellations.

Doctors do not care whatsoever if your bum hurts. Trust me, they've seen everything from pps, to vgs, to bums that hurt. It's no big deal at all. Why suffer because you think your doc would laugh or care?

You could have a thrombosed hemorrhoid. If so you should seek medical attention ASAP so that they can excise it and remove the clot,

Probably this. Go see a colorectal surgeon.

Doc stat. I was mortified too, but the pain Rxs I left doc office with made the entire visit worth it. I too went a few nights with no sleep and in tears. Hands down worst pain ever had & I’ve birthed 4 kids.

Have you tried Tucks pads? You can leave them on all day and sleep with them. They help reduce inflammation and swelling. Or try witch hazel on toilet tissue if you can’t find tucks.

Pelvic PT, hear me out, I know this sounds yucky, but I swear it works. Ice cube suppositories, put one up your bum, let it melt out. Repeat as necessary. The ice will shrink the blood vessels. This should get you by until you can see your MD.

I bet it’s thrombosed. Needs to be cut off. Go in. Btdt after labor.

I would bet you have an anal fissure along with a hemorrhoid based on the pain level. Go to your doc, they can give you a prescription cream that relaxes things down there so it can heal. I find desitin soothing too.
