| Beyond frustrated! My 19 yo son is traveling for an internship and I am about to lost my mind over trying to find him a safe hotel to sleep in while on his 16 hour (2 day) car trip to the internship site. WTF he is 19, responsible, literally traveling for work and he can’t check in to a hotel to sleep for the night before driving a second full day? What do hotels want him to do - sleep in his car in some random parking lot or rest stop (which many also have laws against sleeping at???) Do they just want him on the roads for 16 hrs straight fatigued and dangerous?? I have called, told them I will sign waivers as a parent but no luck?? I am flabbergasted. WTH. You can apparently die for your country at 19 but you can’t sleep in a hotel??? |

Did you try this site?
https://www.hotelages.com/ |
| Last summer my rising college freshman was able to get an Airbnb if that helps? |
OP here - yes I did and called the hotels suggested - guess what- all have 21+ check in rules. Apparently 3rd party booking sites are falsely advertising 18+ and then the poor kid shows up to check in and …. Denied |
| I'm sorry that's happening, OP. I hope you can find something. |
| I’m sorry. That’s crazy they do not allow it. |
It sucks but I would hardly call the policy crazy. Same issue with car rental. |
| We use Hilton app in our name, then check in contactless through the app. The kid never sees the front desk. |
| OP again - I am also trying to not “bend the rules” because I feel that just sets a bad example. Some friends suggested using a fake ID (he doesn’t have one) or doing mobile check-in (but many times you still have to check in at the desk in person and if the mobile check in doesn’t work then…. No room) |

Too bad he doesn’t have a fake id!
My child’s roommate had covid and I called around and found a smaller hotel that she could stay in. |
This. |
Are you willing to share city or other? |
This is what I do. I usually list my self as well so that if they need go to the desk to get a key they can say that I’m still at a work meeting |
| OP here - Columbus Ohio. Prefer a Marriott or Hilton for points redemption. |
