I see more anti-antisemitism than antisemitism. Israel has historically been given much gratuitous support and a free pass to commit horrible abuses because people shy away from appearing antisemitic. We live in a much more inclusive, non-hierarchical society than we used to, and we are less inclined to notice differences between ethnic groups. It is racist to give or demand special treatment, good or bad, to any particular group, and people today are looking at the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through a much more objective lens than they used to. Knee-jerk support for Zionism -- in a form that privileges Jews and dismisses the Palestinian experience -- is declining. Perhaps what feels like "antisemitism" is simply the slow demise of racial privilege. We're all one, whatever our ethnicity. Most people today want to see ALL people flourish and NOBODY excluded. Palestinians have suffered terrible injustices for 100 years. To justify this treatment, one has to be racist. Please, let's not confuse being anti-racist with being antisemitic. It's contradictory to claim that failing to privilege one group over another is bigoted (or, in this case, antisemitic).

Exactly, when you're used to privilege, being treated like any other group feels like antisemitism.

Sadly, that privilege has been used to create a state bursting at the seams with entitlement and pathological narcissism, which is behind the dehumanization and genocide of Palestinians.

The Palestinians elected Hamas. They’re hardly innocent. But Israel is no better.

Which "Palestinians"? Forty percent of Palestinians in Gaza are 14 years old and younger. They are absolutely innocent, and they are suffering and dying disproportionately. The vast majority of people who have been starved to death in Palestine are children -- they are the group most at risk from the effects of malnutrition. I agree Israel is no better, and I'd argue it is substantially worse.

How do you propose getting food to the civilians? What long term will ensure the nutrition of Gazans?

It's not just the expectation of privilege and "get outta jail free" card since WWII. This superiority complex is endemic to Judaism.

FFS, many Jews (and all Zionists) continue to cling to the fairytale that they are LITERALLY chosen above all others by the divine. Think of how outrageous and fundamentally disrespectful that belief system is in 2024 ...

This doesn't make us turn against Israel. When you weren't shouting at us and calling us horrible names, we were trying to explain our point of view. But none of you listen.

You were “highly critical”, but you did nothing.

You have been the bystanders to this all along— the exact bystanders who have been condemned in every other horror of this and the last century.

what the f do you wnt us to do? march with the ceasefire now people who target jewish-owned businesses and are so polarizing that they're actually turning people away from their cause?

guess what - we're jewish, not israeli. and even israelis, protesting by the thousands, haven't been able to get netanyahu to change/

i guess we could target our space lasers right at bibi's house - you're right, we should have thought of that earlier.

Well, if Israelis, in a democracy, can't get rid of Bibi, how do you expect Gazans to get rid of Hamas?

THEY CAN WHEN THERE IS AN ELECTION

There are thousands and thousands of Israels out in the street protesting Netanyahu and protesting this war, and protesting to try to get the government to do more to get the hostages back.

Why do Israelis keep electing him?

why are americans ok with withholding their vote for biden over the war in Gaza, which they know will hand the election to Trump, who incited violence to overthrow the election he lost and is a known threat to democracy and women?

Why are Biden and the DNC elites willing to elect Trump rather than ditch supporting Bibi, Israel and the ongoing genocide in Gaza?

No, go back and answer the question. That will answer this question.

Apparently Biden and Democrats believe supporting Israel is more important than maintaining America's democracy.

Biden issued a powerful condemnation of the murder of the WCK workers, but I agree that he needs to do more. Democrats are also speaking out more and more. On the other side, let's not forget Republican congressman Tim Walberg's unabashed support for genocide when he suggested nuking Gaza to "get it over quick." Biden and the Democrats may be failing on this issue and it's certainly very frustrating, but the Republicans are much, much, much worse.

We're all processing the situation, and this war has led to major paradigm changes globally about Israel. Its image is forever tarnished. Let's give Biden and the Democrats a little more time to catch up. Nobody wants to believe how bad this is, but as the evidence mounts, it's near impossible to avoid the conclusion that Israel is conducting genocide. I hope the ICJ gets an affirmative ruling on genocide out soon and that informs the Biden administration's policies going forward.

Words are cheap. Biden and Blinken both issued “powerful” statements and then went right ahead and finalized sale of weapons to Israel the same day WCK aid workers were killed. I don’t want their thoughts and prayers.

I’m ok with what they have said because Israel was defending a terrorist attack. Hamas is a terrorist organization. I do not support them.

Sure, that’s your right and decision. You are guided by your moral compass, according to that compass WCK aid workers were terrorists and that’s who Israel was defending itself from. Karma won’t be kind and it never forgets.

I’m the PP that no longer supports Israel because of the WCK attack. Initially I felt Israel had every right to fight back after Oct 7th. Did you honestly think they wouldn’t? But attacking a US aid organization is horrible. Israel is losing support here over that action. I think for the first time folks see both sides as bad. Now I don’t care, they can keep attacking and killing each other. America needs to stay out if it.

And Trump was FAR more buddy-buddy with Netanyahu than Biden.

Your dear leader Biden was quick to hop on a plane to go to Israel to hang with Butcher Bibi because Biden is a self-proclaimed Zionist.

Your continued disinformation and misportrayals of Biden are DEEPLY DISHONEST.

Even before the WCK incident, Biden was caught on a hot mic venting his frustration and anger with Netanyahu.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/mar/08/biden-netanyahu-israel-hot-mic

To suggest he's "buddy buddy" and "hanging out with" Netanyahu is at this point a straight up lie. From everything I have seen, Biden is not in any way happy with what Netanyahu is doing and he is no doubt working back channels to put a lot of pressure on Netanyahu.

Probably staged hot mic. Everything Biden has done with respect to Israel stinks of duplicity. The constant lip service of the need to protect the Palestinian people while selling all the weapons needed to do the opposite.

Imagine Joe Speaking out against school shootings, but then approving a mass transfer of guns and pipe bombs to at-risk teenagers.... This is the exact parallel of what is happening here.

Republicans have said outright that they want to nuke Gaza. If you think heaping shit on Biden somehow helps your cause or gets Gaza and Palestinians in a better place, then you are SORELY mistaken.

The last election was in 2006. That means, in case you can't bother to do the math, that Israelis killed children who either weren't born and many of their parents who were too young to vote in that election.

Yes, both sides are terrible human beings to each other. The British should take back rule of Israel since neither side is humane enough to lead.

Do you really think Joe is running the show here? Everyone who is blaming Biden forgets that the man is too old and out of it to be capable of making a sound decision. The decisions with respect to Israel are being made by the important members of his cabinet, members who - news flash, all seem to have deep links to the Jewish State of Israel. I believe close to 1/3 of Biden's cabinet position is Jewish - more important it's full of Jewish people with ancestors directly linked to the Holocaust. This is not an unbiased third party group of people that is capable of looking at the situation with rational eyes and making sound decisions. This group of elites within the cabinet is exactly why the vast majority of the American public has been ignored, lied to, or paid vacuous lip service with regards to their opinions on the matter.

A powerful condemnation. Wow, is the next step a tersely worded letter? He is giving bombs to an army in the midst of ethnic cleansing at best and genocide at worst. But I guess the powerful condemnation makes it ok

Republicans have said outright that they want to nuke Gaza. If you think heaping shit on Biden somehow helps your cause or gets Gaza and Palestinians in a better place, then you are SORELY mistaken.

Many of Israeli ministers have said the same thing. Bibi got mad at them because they disclosed Israel has nuclear weapons. Chilling.

As for the republicans, Trump would have cut and run on Israel by now and all the republicans would fall in line.

Words are cheap. Biden and Blinken both issued “powerful” statements and then went right ahead and finalized sale of weapons to Israel the same day WCK aid workers were killed. I don’t want their thoughts and prayers.

I fully understand, but we also have to consider the Republican position. Now Trump is joining Walberg in saying that Israel needs to "get it over with fast," with all that implies. Trump expressed concern that Israel is "losing the PR war" because of the images coming out of Gaza. His
"solution" is not to condemn the atrocities behind those images but to suggest: a) people stop "releasing tapes" (i.e., hide the war crimes), and b) gain victory as quickly as possible (which presumably means bombing Gaza into oblivion). I agree Biden and Blinken are not responding with adequate firmness, but Trump would be so much worse.

Darling, lets worry about Biden who has enabled the genocide in Gaza rather than Trump who is not in office.

So we are now back to "its the Joooooos" right?

Not all jews. Just those in power in the Biden White House who clearly have the power to make these decisions - despite not being directly elected by the American people.

Imagine selecting a jury of individuals this partial. The world looks to the US to be the police of the world... No one wants a police man that harbors an extremely biased opinion towards one group or another.

To be fair, there is a divide in the White House between those that want to support Israel alone, and those that want to support Israel and Ukraine at the same time.
