I’m a 39 year old female, otherwise healthy and active, but i have been sweating crazy at night! Just at night, no issues during the day. I often times have to change my shirt more than once, I literally feel the water running down my chest and legs. I am not hot, i have nice bedding and comfy room, so I don’t think it is anything external. No nightmares either. What is happening to me? Hormones? It is starting to be really annoying!
Sounds like periomenopause. Yes, you're young, but not too young to start these symptoms. The only treatment is hormone therapy.
Op here, also wanted to mention that I have some weird things going with my cervix, nothing cancerous (based on a biopsy) but still the cells looked abnormal and the doctor said it could be hormone related, I am following up with a specialist in the next 2 weeks, I didn’t think it was related to maybe it is???
Night sweats at 39 might call for a visit to your PCP.
Years back during the start of perimenopause I had some night sweats along with sudden heart palpitations that would awaken me. Turns out I had borderline hyper thyroid that didn’t show up on initial testing but did several weeks later. It was like a thyroid storm
I have always had night sweats on and off during hormonal fluctuations. Now, more regularly because I’m 47. That and memory foam mattresses.
Welcome to getting old!
Estroven menopause multi symptom relief (on Amazon) has been great. My sister recommended it and in a couple of weeks, it worked. It is not a soy mimic (their other perimenopause tablets are - black cohosh). It is a European herbal. I asked my gynecologist about it and she said it was fine for now, and we could discuss HRT down the road. Of course consult anything you put in your body with an MD.
Night sweats at 39 would concern me. Talk to your dr.
Yes, there are other non hormonal causes. What kind of housing do you have? How warm is your bedroom? Can you move to a cooler level? |
Welcome to perimenopause
That sounds very much like perimenopause. You are on the early side, but it happens. I'd make a doctor's appointment soon though, because lots of other things, some of them scary, can cause night sweats.
peri!!!! Coupled with super high humidity the last few nights!
Why? Typical for Perimenopause which can start in late 30s. |
OP please get a second opinion on the biopsy.
