Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
| I assume before June 13th since they are part of the course grade for Bio? |
| My 9th grade is anxiously checking her Bio grade daily. She had a 99% in the class before the MISA test but fears it could drop quite a bit because she didn't do well with the practice test and she says her peers all feel the same. It's frustrating that this test counts for so much of their grade. |
| I am not sure. I can’t see the testing information on synergy. When I click the switch to show, nothing comes up. I am only able to see it in the graduation report which is not up to date. |
| The MISA testing window doesn’t close until May 31, 2024, so not until after that at a minimum. I would expect it would take at least a week for the state to turn around final grading (there’s still some paper tests) and do some statistical analysis to validate the data. Then the data gets transferred to the individual school systems who then have to import it. This whole process is new. I wouldn’t expect it to show up in grades until the last few days of the quarter at best. No purpose to constantly be checking before then. |
You mean fudge (they don't want parents calling) the data because h forbid, if a MCPS Larla received a low score, dropping her A in the class to a B. *gasp* |
Next Spring |
There is going to be a long thread on here when the scores get released complaining about that… |
| any updates here? cant be spring because it goes towards the semester grade |
| Seems like the testing period should be done earlier in MP4 if it's intended to be incorporated into final grades for the semester. Who thought this timing would work over at MSDE and why? |
| any high school teachers on here with information? i feel bad for them as well because I am sure they are being asked repeatedly. |
clearly that poster was being sarcastic |
| most mcap scores do come out much later so i think they were not being sarcastic at all.....i think this may be the first time the scores need to be returned so quickly? |
| My DD struggles in school due to LD and actually has an A in bio right now which is huge for her and is a testament to her hard work in class and not some standardized test. I'm really concerned this test will drop it tremendously. How demoralizing. MCPS should rethink this policy. Why should a test count toward your grade? how is that even meaningful? |
Presumably, if your daughter has an A in bio, it's also because she did well on tests in that class. So clearly, she's capable of doing well on tests.... |
